Hi Rod,
How much weight do you figure you'll be saving with this swap? Also, got any ideas on HP and torque estimates? Posted via Mobile Device |

You cannot do carnage without the wrecking crew. You were supposed to save us something to do! We can't fix that. |
Re: 68 S/C update.....
Hey Rob!!
Fantastic Build and engine!!! I had no idea you had changed directions with the motor until I started doing research for my 6.2 swap. Quick couple of questions for you if you don't mind. 1. What engine stands did you use? I'm going to use the dirty dingo mounts but I'm a little confused about if I can use the Big Block engine stands in my '72 Burb, or if I need to change over to the 73+ stands. 2. Will the factory ac compressor mount with the Dirty Dingo engine mounts? I found out from a reputable shop that the 6.2 AC compressor will work just fine with my Vintage Air Setup (yeah, that means I don't have to buy another compressor for the serpentine system and I hopefully won't have to buy other brackets, depending on what you say). THanks for your help!! Looks great!!! Shawn |

2. Just depends on the compressor and where you align your motor fore and aft. As far as using the factory compressor, as long as it's not a variable speed one, you will probably be OK. However most of the LS compressors won't work, at least that's what i've been told. Every setup is a little different, so there will be some trial and error no matter how much research you do. Quote:
