Scoti

What is the latest on your projects? Did you get your dually finished so that you can get back to this one?

Nope.....

I did sandblast the accessory brackets this weekend to get everything looking nice & uniform. That was the one of the projects that needed to be completed so the front of the motor can be put to bed. I have to procure a couple of 'wearables' for the accessories this week, a splash of color, & I'll be done w/that.

The motor is still sitting on the stand in the garage. I'll need help getting things installed w/o screwing up painted items & my buddy has been working the last 3 Saturdays @ work. I feel he works hard enough as it is & don't want him to have to put in a Sunday as well turning wrenches. He did clean up a spare pair of v.covers for me in their parts cleaning tank for the re-install as well as cleaned the oil-cooler hard lines. I tried soaking the v.covers in degreaser & it wasn't getting them clean (lot's of crusty stuff).

It's looking like it might get slid back into place over the Thanksgiving weekend (pending the weather). With the holidays coming, that means a busier work schedule so I won't get back on the 64 until after the new year....

well I started this thread yesterday and just finished. You do quality work and when you do you take good photos. The dually was really a surprise, I hope to be aqble to follow the 64 until the end.

Wow.... a blast from the past. I'm getting back into the swing of things after a mid-life change-up that I was not expecting (in addition to the dually engine swap). It's taken some time but I'm making progress on the dually again (it basically became a project). I'm wrapping up the engine compartment wiring & hopefully will be installing the wheel-tubs + core support fairly soon (core support is painted & mostly assembled).

The chassis for the 64 is sitting @ a buddies house under a tarp & the 64 is in my shop now w/all of it's parts vs. split between where I was living & a storage facility.

Thanks for checking it out.

Cool build, any new updates on this one?

Re: Project: Recycle

Dang

I saw this pop up on my alerts and thought Scoti was getting stuf done on it...

I hope he does get back on it soon. I might end up getting mine going before he does...LOL

Well Scoti?? what going on here, did you get your dually completed yet? Did you ever do a build thread on that one?

SCOTI 08-21-2014 12:28 PM

Re: Project: Recycle

No build thread for the dually even though it deserved one. Motor swap is done as is 90% of the suspension. Should be getting the extra front a-arms back today (last of the suspension mods).
Air system mounted & functional.
Carpet, Boom-mat, & MLV down on the floor. Buckets & console mounted. Material ordered. Headliner done.
Full stainless exhaust done.
Been contemplating bigger wheels but will likely stick w/16's just to get this distraction done & out of the way....

Plan was to be off this week & knock a few things out but unexpected issue (minor foot surgery) has limited activity so far. I'm up & at it today (hope the doc isn't reading this) & pushing forward. Meanwhile, Recycle is right here full of dust & moth-balls next in line.

Thanks for the interest & inquiries!

That's what I would do, you can always do wheels/tires later after you finish Recycle!

Dually build.....
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=640843

64 related?

I'm always watching for deals on stuff I need (want).... I did secure a 9" rear w/3.50 ratio, posi, & disc brakes over the summer that's shorter vs the current 68 12bolt housing & recently purchased a wiper delay kit for when the interior is re-assembled. Still hunting for a decent column but might just get something aftermarket. I'm holding off for now but the other big purchases will be Vintage Air & alternative rolling stock (still traditional; just lighter ;) ).

Not much to show. I just moved the chassis closer to me last week. Gotta get the big freakin dually out if the way 1st. I anticipate a summer resurrection.
