Re: PO has me PO'd
That fan just looks slick. I wonder if you could epoxy it in the hole.

Thanks for providing a link to your build, great work! Now I can watch what you're doin'...outstanding welds Quote:
Tough call on the epoxy, some plastics don't work well, and I have two differant types of plastic, sooo...I'll try to buy on the classified section Now, get back to sanding:lol: |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Well, rethought this thing again. Seems like the 2WD fan shroud is going to give me the most room, including the area down around the lower rad. hose.
I changed the way the PO of this shroud had it mounted up. Cutting off the two side mounts and just using the lower bottom mount for orientation. There is a gap of about 1/4" between the fan and the shroud, filled it with single sided sticky weatherstrip tape and screwed it in about 5 spots for now...seems pretty solid, but I can add 'J' clips if needed in the future Jon, if you need info on the relays I'm using, LMK Chrysler part # 52079528AB Bamms part # 0481-0320J Thanks 1SIK52 for the rear harness Also picked up some 67/68 side moulding, waiting for clips from Wes @ Classic Heartbeat http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...eplace16-4.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...eplace16-1.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...eplace16-2.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...eplace16-3.jpg |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Was told by Wes that there are inferior repro clips out there, so we got them from Mar-K, not disappointed even has a rubber grommet behind nut so it doesn't scratch the paint
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace166.jpg I realize this has nothing to do with getting the truck running, but after 3 years of searching ( Thanks D. Passmore, Quality guy, I would buy from him again) I just had to see what this moulding would look like on the truck! An issue popped up on the rear wheel opening as the radius is differant on the blazer/jimmy then on a pickup truck. I see a fix, but want to try it first on a junk moulding http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...eplace16-5.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...eplace16-7.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...eplace16-6.jpg |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Started a new tradition in the family over the 4 day Holiday, since my boys get antsy I've decided to assign projects that I want to get done. Sorta like a Pops to do list.
My workshop doors have been in need of repair for a long time and with winter coming on I made the leap. First estimate was for 6 large, second estimate was for 4. Holy crap! Total build for materials was 700.00, plus feeding these guys for 4 days! They invented a contest to see who can empty the most plates. Dam kids Well, a day later and I had the heat down to 65° and was comfortable in a t-shirt...no more auxiliary heater Now I can get back to work on the truck http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...hinTrip010.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...hinTrip007.jpg Notice the rag stuffed under the door for insulation and the blow foam. lol http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...eplace16-5.jpg |
Re: PO has me PO'd

Re: PO has me PO'd
Thats a fine lookin' door. Should let in tons more light then the other one.

Re: PO has me PO'd
Door looks good! So does that side shot of the half top. What did you have to put under your mounts to get her to line up?
I've got to get a new garage door on mine too, the spring broke last year and me or the boy are the only ones that can open it now. Oh well, another project to put on the back burner. Might get some of it done during the xmas stand down. |

Wow, I have to say originally living in Ohio that's a common site for most old vehicles. I got sick of dealing with that 25 years ago and started buying our cars out west and hauling or driving them back East. Got sick of doing that and just decided to move to Arizona to be closer to all the rust free cars  Not to mention it's in the 70's here,,,,in December ;) Sorry you probably didn't want to hear that. |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Awhile back you were having trouble lining up your body lines due to the body mounts and then when you put the half top on the bolt holes didn't line up. How did you get her all lined out? I ask because my body lines are still not great and I think its due to the cab mounts not being shimmed right or something.

Re: PO has me PO'd
Damn this is turning into a fine lookin' K5! (sorry I was feelin' left out:lol:)

Re: PO has me PO'd

Adding the 1/2 top only proved my problem, as it sits 1/2" back towards the rear of the truck only on the passenger side, sooooo, lowering the "A" post patch panel, rocker backing plate, floor or all of the above should resolve the SNAFU. AND bring the half top forward the needed demension. Just gotta figure out what moves what where, and by how much...seems simple in theory lol I don't know exactly what you did so far, so it would be hard to give you an exact answer, only tips on where the problem may lie. Post up specific problem areas and I'm sure we all can come up with an answer Quote:

If you took a boat out here in MN in March it would look something like this... Dammit all...
Actually, depending on the weather and if it was early march, you might still drive the truck out on the lake with the boat still on the trailer. |

Here's a screen shot of my current weather. I'm still waiting for the lp conversion kit for my garage heater, so no heat in there yet. This will be the coldest night since last winter sometime.
The law here says that you have to get your fish house off the lake by the end of february, but you can still haul them out there after that if the ice is good. You just can't leave them overnight after 2/28. |
