Hmm... well that's good to know, that's the first time ive heard any mention of a mech version. I'll have to keep an eye out for one. Do they look the same as the C/K trucks?

Yes, but the fuel gauge is in the tach. I've only seen one in a yard and the guy wouldn't sell it.

What size Hemi? Either way it would be awesome.

I love the work man! Keep it up, im thinkin about goin with a 12 valve cummins in my 1972 short-wide 4x4, but thats probably a long ways off though... How much power are you plannin on producin out of your motor? Thanks in advance!

Thanks. It should make 550-600Hp easily. I probably won't push it super hard to try to get max HP. It probably can do 675hp with the air and fueling it'll have. The injection pump will be the limiting factor I think. I don't want to have to yank the engine out and rebuild it right out of the gate, so I'll keep it conservative. :lol:

This things gonna be bad! its been inspirational for my swb 12v/nv4500 build. Does the intercooler piping clear between the inner fenders and battery box fine? ive been debating running my 2nd gen intercooler flipped upside down and relocating batterys.

Also does your hood latch clear ok? im having a tough time squeezing the 2nd gen intercooler between frame rails and under hood latch.

The piping clears the battery trays, but I had to trim the inner fender on the driver's side for the intercooler piping to clear.

My hood latch will clear after I modify it. :lol: I have to cut it and move it 3/4" of an inch and do the same to the hood guide pin and it will work fine.

Thats what I fugured... Im thinking about running the intercooler oposite of yours and mounting the batterys under the bed.

For fitting it ill either run a 1" body or trim an inch off the intercooler... I hadnt really thought about modifying the latch so ill be excited to see that!

Have you ran exhaust yet? Its gonna be interesting to get mine past the tcase.

Yep, I have 4" over the trans cross member and 5" on back. I got 4" all the way through on the 88 burb I'm doing, so it can be done. :lol:

I used a stock BBC radiator for this truck. I can get you a pic of the clutch pedal set up. It was a PITA to figure out and get the rod to travel straight when the pedal moves in an arc. I'll have to remove the linkage for the hydra boost to get a pic of it. When I do I'll get a pic of it.

What hydroboost are you using? i have the unit from a 01 dodge and it is all sorts of into the intake. i think i need to find a shorter hydroboost, or continue on with my slight modification of normal to get the unit i have on there.

i need to make sure i the ability to use an MC that has a big enough bore for the big front brakes. i think i can maybe get this one to work if i toss the factory intake horn, but it will still be close to the IP

Some of the corvette guys mount the hydroboost upside down, that might be an option.

Ryan, my Hydraboost is from a 84 K30. I made a new plate and bolted it directly to the fire wall. You might have issues with as far back as your engine is. If you have to ditch the stock intake just make a flange and weld pipe to it like i did on mine. A stock intake wouldn't fit on mine either. I tried a 24v one, a 12v one may have fit. I also tried a dodge unit on my truck, but the bracket they had on the rear placed the whole mess way forward like you're saying and would have been into my injection pump. If you want a bigger reservoir, get one from a C40 or so. It should bolt on the pick up hydraboost unit.

Sweet, i think i have one of those kicking around. ill have to check my hidden parts piles and see if i can make that work.

the engine set back is definitely getting me right now, but i think i can make it all fit

There is a member on here that sells an adapter plate to run gm hydroboost setup. There is a guy on pirate running the kit on his K5 with a 6.oh in it

I keep forgetting you moved it back so the back of the valve cover acts as your center console. :sexy:

Check the super dooty ones. I have a super dooty hydroboost setup with a 95 Explorer master cyl. Everything else under the hood of the explorer is stock. If your interested, I can get some measurements

Ryan, for what it's worth, I put a stock corvette master cylinder on a gm truck hydraboost in my corvette so I could run the 4 piston calipers. It works great. Maybe that's an option for you too.

I am all about dual purpose. a center console that keep the coffee warm? I'M IN! i would take some measurements if you have time, cant hurt to have some options.

Actually ive heard good things about those, i just totally forgot about it. ill probably have to bug the napa guys for some specs when i figure out WTH i am doing.

I'm also running a Corvette master on hydroboost with stock D60 discs/11.5AAM discs. Works great and doesn't look too modern under the hood.

There is a split on the Corvette masters with the later ones having a shallow indent for the push rod. I bought one for a 77 Corvette and a 1 1/8 bore and it works great with plenty of reservoir capacity.

Edit: I'm finally building my 68's D60 (after driving my Nova on snow/ice I decided to get my butt in gear) so if you can PM me your address I'll ship the GM D60 arm down to IA.

Ryan,
My dad has been working on the peterpilt pickup idea for about 20years That is about the time he channeled the cab:lol:
The cab is a early to mid 40s with the vents on the cowl and is narrower than the next generation.The radatior shell is steel so it will be easy to modifyinto a core support.He had a piece of 10 guage bent up to make longer sides so the shell will look taller and cover the front of the frame.
The front axle is that he will use is a 5" drop out of a1ton GMC bread truck.
The front fenders will be the flat radiused off highway style.
I am glad He is getting going on it for 2 reasons
it is cool! And I will get my axles and other parts for my 72 project:lol:

Has anyone tried running H1 master cylinders? H1's have 4 wheel discs on GM truck hydroboost. I see them on eBay often. Was thinking trying that on my burb.

Do you have a build thread on your nova, or more info? I have 64 that is getting a 250 and a t5.

I decided to go ahead and add speed warning to my truck. Here are pics of the cluster now. I've got a new bezel coming, and I have a new lens being modified for it. It should add to the cool factor a bit. :lol:
