Found out my rear end was leaking so I ended up painting my tail lights.
Yeah, how's that work?

changed my front brakes to 6 lug disc from 5 lug disc and ran new brake lines to the front. yesterday, ran a new line for the hydraulic clutch. will run the rear tomorrow.

if you ever have to do any flaring, i highly recommend the Eastwood Professional Brake Tubing Flaring Tool. it is a bit pricey, but man do those flares come out perfect every time. when the time comes, will be happy to do the fuel lines with this tool too.

I looked at one of those Pro tools earlier, and man are they pretty! With my $-situation, I'd have to rent mine out on weekends to afford having it around when I need it! I'm sure you felt pride when you looked at the finished flares. Keep up the nice work!
Sam

I think your making a good choice, fawn is a nice color, and your truck will look good. Nothing wrong with blue, but fawn is a bit more subtle. I was going for a repaint with a gun metal grey or a matte black, but now a fawn-ish color also sounds good, ahhh choices!

Finally got around to changing the metering rods and jets in my Edelbrock 1406 to adjust for the altitude here in Denver. Apparently these carbs are set up for sea level from the factory.

Made a huge difference in how it ran. I still need to change the spark plugs since the other ones look a little fouled after running so rich for so long.

That looks great, really like the color. Nothing better than fresh paint that turns out well. It's like the smell of fresh enamel. I never get tired of that.

Trying to change the oil but I can't get the old gasket off the engine with picks, I might try to locate a dremel before this is over...

thank you sam for the encouragement!! :)

started to do the rear brakes but got a little anxious and decided to put the dog house back on. still have to make some cuts to allow the tire to travel into the wheel well but i knew that going in. if anything, i wanted to do it because i knew it would motivate me in getting the rest of what i'm calling "phase 1" done. ...that and the future wife looks at me funny every time i say "i'm getting close to being done". in her words, "it is only real if i can see it" lol

...at some point, will have to compile all the images i have and create a build thread.

Ok, here's what I did today.
-ordered some 2" drop shackles
-cleaned up and painted my new rims that I found on my uncle's property last week.
-Put in a new battery (starts like a champ now)
-started to restore my V6 emblems that someone before me messed up.
-CLR'd half my bed.
Time for a beer!

Stripped, cleaned up, and painted a script valve cover and breather back in spring, got the parts to put it all together tonight and dropped it on.

did not get much done because of a rouge thunderstorm but did cut out enough metal to allow the wheel to travel into the wheel well. may hit up a salvage yard tomorrow and get some wheels with a better backspacing.

Finished the removal of the bed tubs, bed's ready for a new set of sills/wood/strips. Also test fit my new muffer. Perfect. I'll update my "cheap muffer" thread when I take pics.

Since I've got the cab on its back I decided to get the inside roof stripped, sanded and epoxy primed while it's easy to get to. Didn't quite get done today. I'll finish up tomorrow and get the primer on.

The painter and I WOULD have loved to flip the cab on it's back, it took us hours to sand the interior roof
