I have lost sleep over these stupid ac vents.....So be gentle I am sensitive...They don't come apart...they are billeted but no one so far can get thm apart or i would do them in green too. But for now they stay like that till i decide what to do . I don't want them to look like a 70's disco van.....

Okay so .....

The 58 was supposed to be theraphy and a easy build.....not so much . But I am in the home stretch now. The beast is mostly wired now and i rebuilt each light housing fo every light. I glass beaded then primed then painted the housings and replaced each and every socket. I wired it with one of the EZ wire kits and I have used a bunch of differnt kits but I really like the product. I should have taken more pictures with all of that but i didn't, but each wire soldered and heat shrinked and the harness is all wrapped. But I also managed to get the oak kit in.....It didn't turn out as nice as i wish it would have but It's going in for now until I get a chance to fx it. When I had the body shop widen the rear tubs i showed them where to place the bed strip grooves but they were out 1/2" . Not easy to try and hide and lots of work to fix it.

Ya i am sure I used it on my buddies 66.....I think that was the kit that you had to mount each wire back into the fuse block....So you mount the block then pull the wire back to the block then tighten a screw down for each wire.....with the EZ kits the block comes prewired so it's mount the block and pull the wire towards where it goes too.

But I also think that the auto wire did come with the head light switch...and EZ doesn't...I don't like the goody switch stuff where you have to cut down the headlight arm for the switch. I like to buy the good headlight switches anyhow...I am using the EZ kits for all my builds now, I like the kits and I want to use one kit for all my builds it really saves time and you really get good at putting them in.

I need to get rid of those blue wires and tan cap.... I need to run the smaller cap set up i think...Do those run a diffrent distributor or the same distrbutor just a differnt cap set up.....guessing they run a differnt drive...ugh i don't wanna scratch my paint changing it out....

Will be back onto the pro truck soon as i finish one of these builds....The pro truck was killing me...But because I am a fat tire kinda guy the 58 is running 14" wides on the rear.....and well the 65 street version is going to get the tubs widdened as big a i can go rubber wise as well.....it's not done yet but right now thats the plan....and i see a NOS set up as well in it's future. But now that I am thinking Pro truck I should call and check on my engine. The body shop is back on the pro truck as soon as they finish the street 65 if that make sense.

In my spare time i flattened out another acre to make trailer turns easier and park more trucks. I hope to move enough stuff to get my new bay added on before the weather changes.......crosses my fingers

I hope to have the 58 test fired at some point this week.....there are a few parts I am waiting to finish off...My air conditioning,my stereo , carpet and the rest of the wiring. I hope to take the 58......just want to make sure it's finished and trouble free.Thats a long way to send a untried truck.....but Dino could fix it for me....lol

Good luck, that trip will be just reward for working so hard. Totally understand the nerves though. I'm battling just going to Mission for a race, in the next couple weeks. Don't need the aggravation should something break. Take the dually and trailer, extra friend driving it...should something go awry load it up and continue. Extra gas money but well worth the awesome road trip, to reward all your efforts. Projects are really shaping up, I look forward to next years progress.

I am thinking of sending it down ahead of me actually......either on a car carrier....or have a friend drive it down. That gives me way more time off to hang out where it's warm.
