Hello, old thread!
Just scanned a bunch of old pics. This was my baby; medium olive '71 K10 that I painted yellow when the rust needed fixing. Dumb move but I was a punk kid. I owned the truck from '81 'til '07. |
Re: Vintage picture thread
Now, now nothing wrong with yellow. I do wonder after that many years why did you sell it?

I dont know how old it has to be to be vintage but here are some my dad took in the early 80s. The 68 C10 he got from the original owner in 1980, the 73 blazer belonged to a friend of his until he got in 85 that is it with flames. I now own both trucks.:metal: The last pic is from last year.

What a cool thread. So many memories. How come they never start with my Mom bought this truck?
This is me when I was young. Dad bought this truck when I was 2 months old, me and my son are building it now. |

I know this vintage photo has been previously posted but I wanted to add a contemporary photo at the same location (Duluth, MN) that I took earlier this week.

Bummer. Duluth is a nice place to visit in the summer if you get the opportunity to return. Lots of activities and (in keeping with the thread) vintage things to appreciate such as steam locomotives, light houses, Babe Ruth autographed baseball, lift bridges, old boats...

I bought my blazer from the original owner who was in a blazer club in Southern California. One of their members took a photo of the group from up on a hill. He told me that the photo was taken while on a trip to Bishop Ca I believe. His is the medium gold one in the front row.

Great pic! Would love to see a higher resolution image.

Re: Vintage picture thread
Ya I thought it was pretty neat. The original picture wasn't terribly clear to begin with. So I borrowed the photo and had it blown up. The original is an 8x10 I think.
It also makes me wonder how many of the trucks in that picture are still around today. Or any of the original owners or new owners of those trucks on this forum. |

My son just sent me this link from "Truck Camper" magazine about 1969 campers. https://www.truckcampermagazine.com/...r2SLs360i4OsP4 . It shows Chevys, GMCs and the other brands with campers. Here are some pics with the GM trucks. I think I saw a thread about a week ago with some pictures of a service body that looked similar to the one in one of the pictures.
Are you there Jocko? |

One more... A camper for an El Camino!

Re: Vintage picture thread
Some very cool ads. The El Camino is a bit different. Iwonder what it weighed
|
Re: Vintage picture thread
Cool stuff.
I can't imagine trying to drive an El Camino with an overhead camper. |
