Yeah it's really loud when they do.

That doesn't mean you would have paid $610. You would have got it for $61 if you won it in time.

Well at first I bid 60.01. I did'nt know you could'nt do cents. That's when panic set in and I bid $610. Then I had to retype in $61 by that time it was over. :lol:Suck:waah::drama::thud:[

Ya relax. I know, I blew my big chance. I guess the 2 Rockstars I had while I waiting for the last 15 min. to tick by did'nt help. My heart was really going. I was on the edge. Here I thought I'd be sneaky and bid 60.01. At least now I know they don't take pennies. Then it takes alittle time to confirm your bid. Next time. 2days 3hrs and 23min. I better start slamming the Rockstars now.:barn::barn::exit::thud:

Please tell me it's normal for the driveline/diff to be off to one side.

Re: Daverods project 66

Hard to tell by the pics, but it looks like the rear diff is shifted to the passenger side

Re: Daverods project 66

de diffhousing usually isnt simmetric cause the stuff inside is too the side too

did you measure from the centre of the diff or from the ends of the axle

they might've done it to give more room to the driverseat wish isnt as strainge as it sounds

It is.

Re: Daverods project 66

I welded the tabs on by measureing from the diff housing and the flange ends where it hooks to the wheel. It's got to be normal. I hope? I just don't know for sure? It's a 73 rear end. The axle is sitting straight. I measured from holes in the frame and from the stuff I bolted on.

Re: Daverods project 66

Most times when you do an engine swap, the engine will be offset to the passenger side by some amount. . . the amount depending on the size of the replacement engine. Most people don't realize that many factory engines are also offset. Another thing people don't realize is that the pinion center line in hardly ever on the center line of the frame. They, also are offset to the passenger side. It doesn't matter that the two U-joints are not on the same centerline from the front of the frame to the back (my engine is set right 2" and the pinion is 1-1/2" right.) It only matters that their individual centerlines are parallel.. Answered my own question I think. Just freaked me out for a few.

;)Exactly. Didn't somebody post an example of the geometry recently?

I'm not referring to the center section, but the whole diff. Did you measure from the backing plates to the frame on each side?

and I totally agree with the factory off-set thing,
guess I'm not sure what exactly you are asking.
the off set would also aid in the u-joints being properly lubricated through-out suspension travel.

The diff. is centered. I guess I was just suprised the drive line does'nt come out of the center of the diff. It comes out off to one side. I just thought it would be centered. Now I know better.;)
