4-28 Its been a very long journey but last friday I let Hardtimes go to a new home. Was a bit rainy on departure, but made it up on the trailer second try. She is now located close to Indianapolis. Owner sent me a visor to patina up for him, he installed it. I'v always like visors so I'm glad he isn't changing the rims into some hideous modern ones and is keeping the truck as is for the most part. I'll continue to keep posting as he sends me pics. Just bought a house so I'v been busy moving in, remodeling, about to do fencing etc. So I'll be housing my 51' at my new home and continuing to work on Geronimo 54' as well. Hoping to pick up some lost time on that now that weather is pretty decent.

Thanks for everyone that followed and commented on hardtimes.

Congratulations on the sale. I'll keep my eye for Hardtimes as I live on the Northeast side of Indy.

I enjoyed reading through your thread, I believe it was the first one I read upon joining the site mainly because I also have a 49.

I'll be following along with Geronimo and your 53 too.

hahaha still no space for all my junk. Money is practically all spent cause of house and other debt. NO money to put into another truck like I planned on doing. Barely have any loot to put into my 51'. I'm hoping to bag it over the winter, or atleast start it.

Sold 49 Hardtimes a couple months ago, you all may know. Very long build and its still living up to its name...... Guy had it 2 weeks, drove it 5 times. Took it over to a friends house that has been hounding him to see it. The friends wife got in the truck (didn't ask) and had no clue it was a stick, turned the key, fired it up in gear, panicked hit the gas rather than brake, drove it right into her friends SUV. to make matters worse, come insurance time, they wouldn't fess up. So the owner of the truck had to pay two deductibles. I told him I had all the parts to fix it. So I spent alot of hours prepping two fenders, a hood, hoodlatch and grill. I got the old parts back and made out on the parts I sold him. So I'm waiting on the pics of the truck he had a local rod shop put back together.

I'll post the progress pics of the parts I finished up for him and also of the truck back together. I can fix the battered fenders and hood, the grill is going up in my office, so ironically the first original buyer (flaked out) wanted to put a new grill in the truck and I was going to keep this one. Well I guess I the grill was destined to stay with me!

So hardtimes is back together with the new parts I did up for the new owner. I put alot of hours in the fenders, hood and grille. You can almost not even tell the parts were swapped out, the hood actually fits better now. Here are just a snippet of the work I had to do on these crusty parts. The usual major patches, stripping them by hand, chassis saver underneath and top coated with Lizard skin. The lizard skin was so easy to spray.

I since got the old emblem off and shipped to him, so once he installs that and gets me more pics, I'll update.

10-3 hardtimes update. It won a peoples pick award at a local charity car show. Happy the owner is taking out and enjoying it. He added the front plate and visor. Really sets the truck apart. The new front clip I did for him looks really good IMO.
