Strokes are scary things, and hopefully that works out OK. Death isn't quite as scary as long as you know where you're going, but is still rough on those left behind.

I've only read the last few pages, and it looks like there are quite a few more to catch up on, so I'll check back in when I get a little more time and catch up.

Yea I know where he is Going and I know I will see him again. Maybe not as soon as I would like, but God will take care of that. And thanks for coming back. I thought I lost you.

I tried to build my vent windows todat and I failed. My hands are not as strong as they once was. My hands want let me do the rubber in the frames. So, I have to get my Son over one day and let him do it. He is strong as a bull and has a grip like a vise. He is a EMT so I have to wait untill he has a day off.

Re: 1968

Today I went out to the shop and I couldn't believe my eyes. The vent windows was still in the same place where I left them. No one went and finshed them for me. So, I started replaceing the rubbers and ribbits and before I knew what happened it was finished. I only got one side done. But at least it is finished. There are a few scratches on the frames. So I will have to touch them up. I painted the lower part that fits in the door black to cover the scratches. It is below the top of the door anyway.
Tomorrow I will be going to get a few parts from a friends house.
head light switch
wiper switch
vent window frame
set of horns
ing. switch
and dash with gages
After I get back I need to re-install the e-brake cable that I removied when cutting the holes in the cross member.
If I have enough time I need to clean up the shop it is a mess.

The vent window looks good! I've spent the last two days cleaning up the colossal mess in my own work shop. It's amazing how fast the clutter and dirt pile up!

I ran into a snag. I broke one of the vent frame stud off so I need a another frame that I can paint. But I will get her done sooner or later.

I was going to work on the truck today but got side tracted. I started putting plywood on the exterior wall of my shop extention. I got tired of looking at it un -finshed. Then I will install hardee board siding over the plywood. So I will be working on the shop for the next couple of days. Unless I get side tracted again.

Yea I know how messy a shop can get. I am the only one working in it. You would think it would stay a little cleaner.

Today I went and found a drivers side vent window frame. So tomorrow I will tear it apart and sand blast the frame. Don't know when I will paint the frame yet. I hate to get all the paint ready for just that little bit of work. I will install the new red sway bar bushings tomorrow I know. Had to move the air compresser to the back of the shop and run a longer electric wire to the compresser. Also a longer wire for the welder also to the back of the shop. felling a lot better now since the tooth is gone.

Today I was going to work on my truck. But I got a call and had to return to work for a week. So I guess my truck will have to wait. Got to build 4 counter tops and a bridge for a pond.

I am working on another project for a couple. Building 4 counter tops this week. So not to much will get done on the truck. At least I will be able to order a wiring harness. I finshed installing the 2 inch insulation boards in the ceiling and walls in the shop. It will be nice and cool for the rest of the summer and warn this winter.

Re: 1968

Today I had to wait for the materials for the counter tops to get here so I installed the red poly front sway bar bushings. It was good to work on the old girl. It seems like a long time since I have done anything to her.
here is the picture before I installed the bushings.
Here is the sway bar bushings installed in the truck. It shows a lot of dust and sand everywhere.

This working everyday is for the birds or for the young. I will be glad when this project is over with. (counter tops that is) I enjoy working on my truck. I ordered a rebuilt dash cluster today. It takes three weeks to rebuild and ship it. I first have to ship my old dash cluster and he builds it with all new parts and gages and sets the speetometer to zero. I will post pictures when it comes in. Just another step into finshing this project.

Re: 1968

Today, I worked on the vent window frame. After I took it apart and cleaned it, I found the rust was a little worse than I thoght. So I cut the rusty part out and replaced it with good metal from another window frame. It turned out real nice. I also installed the mirrow suport bracket. The one that fits inside the door. But somehow I misplaced the other bracket for other door. So I will have to find a relacement.
