My C30 came home today. I got my panel lined up to put it back on the rebuilt chassis (been done for years finally getting back on it). Tucked away my 72 K20 and 72 C10 burbs, probably never to be seen again haha! I also moved a ton of parts in to deep storage.

Heh, nothing. But I did put a couple of PVC pipe target frames that I assembled to use at our "local" gun range into the back of the truck. They were in the way, in the garage. Our "local" gun range now requires us to buy the frames, because of the cabrona virus. We have enough PVC pipe around to make our own.

Whew ! Glad I'm done with this step!
I installed the after market grille and hung the front bumper.
I remember reading some forum posts about this install!
I was warned about the sharp edges, loosening up the fenders a tad and some massaging.;)
Only needed one band-aid

Thanks Mark,
Can you see what's still missing and needs to be installed?
Something you helped me with awhile back? ;)

Well I can check this off the list :metal:
Finally got my windshield with stainless trim installed yesterday.
I was lucky to find a knowledgeable C10 glass installer and got to watch, learn and help out a little.
It came out beautiful.

Thanks to board member CG for the windshield trim.
Thanks again Mark!

That looks great, who did the windshield for you and did he supply the glass?

Since I procrastinated on this windshield, I had called Tahoma Glass to set up my appointment.
Turns out Tahoma Glass, a long time top rated glass shop for all Classic vehicles in my area has closed his doors and retired.
However they did answer their phone and recommended a local glass installer, Jakes Glass LLC.
Jake has installed many trimmed windshields on C10’s and has his method down a little different than I have seen on some installation videos.
Jake supplied the Precision gasket and the Furyuro (sp?) windshield.
Him and his assistant had the job done in under 2 hours.
I recommend him and his work. :metal:

Ill have to give him a shout. I have an NOS gasket and Ill have to figure out how people are polishing their trim. I think LocDoc said do it while its still in the rubber before you change it out. And then dremmel and polishing compound of some sort. Do you know if he put extra sealant in it, or did he just use the gasket?

Pulled my truck out of the shop and gave her a quick wash. Cleaned up her spot good and then made the leap and took the first step in disc brake conversion. I have all the front steering and suspension removed. All that remains is the upper and lower A arms on both sides. Ran out of gas and called it a day.

Finally finished rebuilding seat and recovering. Now the refurbished interior is nearing completion. Just need to finish trimming carpet, install seat belts, door panels, head unit, and steering wheel.

Reclaimed R12 refrigerant so I could disassemble a/c system enough to remove core support for rust repair (battery area) and repaint. Temporarily buttoned a/c system back up so I could evacuate to keep moisture out and re-use filter/drier. Going to change expansion valve while I have it opened up (evaporator flooding issues). No, I am not doing a BMW engine swap!

You may need a bigger fan! Looks like your body panels are nice and straight, wont be too long and you will be running down the road. I am ready for fall, much more enjoyable to work on trucks, or outside in general.

Yes, he used a new improved sealant he recommends and guarantees.

I polished the trim myself.

Call me cheap and crafty but I used a variable electric speed drill with a locking trigger button.
I put the drill upside down with the trigger in the up position in my bench vice and used the cheapo Harbor Freight cotton buffing wheels.

I started by taking some 1000 grit wet finishing sanding paper for taking down any fine scratches/blemishes. The trim is all stainless steel and being careful when polishing is pretty forgiving.
Being careful to not bend, keep your hands close together on the section you are polishing and keep moving to avoid heat build up when buffing.
Hope this helps everyone out.

Short of an AC fan I don't know if a bigger fan would do much more than blow more hot, humid air over me! I have an exhaust fan near the peak of the roof in the shop I kick on as well to pull a bit more air through but it's awfully loud.

I've got my list of items to get, just ordered some Moog cross shaft kits and new from springs from Rockauto. Will get my conversion kit on order in a week or so. Got lots of cleaning to do before it goes back together.

haha, any air is better than no air, yesterday was a no air flow kind of day. Getting past the cleaning part is when the fun begins, when you can start putting on new parts. I wish ECE was still around, made it easy to one stop shop.

Boog,
Lowered it 4" in the rear and plan on 2-1/2" drop spindles in the front. I did the shock relocate in the rear and adjustable trac bar but wanted to keep front steering and suspension geometry which could use standard length shocks. I didn't want any radical lowering, just enough to make the stance lower and level.

Started the cowl gutter. Was going to shave it but decided against it . More pics to follow on the gutter channel. I made a die from wood and made the hump area so far the rest is just bending and using the metal stretcher and shrinker.

Mine looked like that when I started. I found some very bad rust that was hidden under the cowl panel that I couldn't see until I removed it. I'm glad I went the extra mile and removed the cowl or I would have had water issues after all of that hard work.
