No real truck time, unless you consider a phone call to Bomp truck time… I do...:mm:
So today, Old man winter gave us a cloudy and rainy day… I loaded up my bud's trailer and off to the studio...:uhmk: The unit next to my studio is getting a remodel so I scarfed up the unwanted lumber and countertops for FREE...:bann: to be used in my shop to be built in the near future...:chevy: With the help of a couple of young guys, read good lumber moving backs, we loaded up and hauled a load to my place… The ride home also involved the aforementioned phone conversation with Greg…;) Later it was off to HF with Mrs. Boss and Jojo… Here are some pics… |

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Loving the pic brother! Good to have a short chat yesterday. :metal: Not sure about the truck yet, called the guy and he has two other guys interested. One who's coming too see it today so for my luck it'll be sold before I can get to it. :waah: Ah, maybe the good Lord will make things work in my favor. :chevy:

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
looking good Don! my crossmember was pretty caked up as well...unfortunately, mine wasn't as easily accessible as yours...I did lots of squirming & contortion maneuvers just to get it as clean as I could...needless to say, my neck & back were not very appreciative

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Like I said on my thread , I took mine of the road a year ago . The rate it's going my estimate of two years is looking opptermistic . But who's counting I think the trouble is we all get distracted by other projects . Like me Don just keep going and when it's done it's done

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
One suggestion. If I had my motor perches out of the truck ever again, I would take a step drill and bore the center hole(s) to the next bigger size. I would use a big heavy washer during installation against the bolt head for reinforcement. Having that hole just a tad bigger would make installing the rubber mounts 1000% easier. I've struggled every time I've had to detach or reconnect the rubber mounts and having that extra bit of maneuvering room for the bolt would make the job much easier.

I will do just that because when I first mounted the engine, I was working alone and even though I only stated the first bolt by hand (leaving it severely loose), I still ended up fighting with the other bolt...:banghead: |
