Well folks I'm heading back down close to home. UPRR is laying off and I was on their list. Lined my job back at the saw shop for awhile and that's my excuse to get back onto the 66 full force this year since I'll be closer to home. One thing about the railroad especially now is....ZERO job security unless you have high seniority. Anyhow, enjoyed my time up here and met alot of great guys. But I'm looking forward to getting back onto my truck. :chevy:

Yeah we'll see what happens. Union Pacific is not the best company to work for that's for sure. Least the shop I was in was pretty bad. I'm keeping tabs with BNSF and G&W. G&W happens to be close to home as well so hopefully they'll be hiring soon. I'll be back on the truck in a week for sure man. :chevy:

Thanks man! Worse could happen I'm sure....but I get to go back to my trucks so I'm happy. 64 GMC needs brakes and steering and the 66 needs to be finished so Plenty to cover this year for sure!

Well, that sucks about the job. It sounds like it was a good experience though. It will definitly look good on a resume if nothing else.

Months have gone by and I haven't yet even had the chance to get back on this ol gal. Been catching up with a crap ton of life since I've been back. Anyhow! Got it out for the first time this year a few weeks ago and into the sunshine. I've also been fighting with my internet company being down ALOT lately so that also explains my lack of activity on here.
Yesterday being Sunday I pulled the truck out and tinkered on finalizing what it would take to get this 292 fired up and running. Needless to say......Not much at all. Fuel, water, oil, and priming would allow it to roar to life. Gotta fill the trans and put the drive shaft in as well. Folks it looks like I'll be firing it up FINALLY very soon. Work has been NUTS and I have little time for anything these days, but I'm planning for the beginning of August to hear this motor for the first time. :metal: Until then folks! If anything else happens I'll be updating long as my interwebs work! :chevy:

Well yesterday evening and into the wee hours of this Sunday morning I got the fenders fill primed, sanded, & painted. Don't have pictures of the finished product yet as I was to tired to take any more but here's what I have for the steps along the way. Fenders were done in 3 base colors like the grill support.

Well Thursday(yesterday) I spent some of the day color sanding and getting these panels painted up. 5 heavy coats of clear on them all so plenty of shine and will pop even better with a cut and buff. Hopefully start on the hood again if the weather holds!

Happy New Year folks! Kicking off the new year by working on the 66! :metal:

Weather was rather warm at 57 degrees for a January which is awfully rare so I took advantage of the day off and got the drive shaft sanded and painted. Did have to warm up the metal first as it wasn't quite warm enough but it came out just fine none the less.

Hope everyone is having a great day. More updates tomorrow. :chevy:

Love the colour and the craftsmanship! Really nice work. What calibre is that in the background laying on the bench? Us Canadians love our guns too!

Really nice work - love the 60-66 trucks too.
