Ok, I would like to know how to cut and buff the single stage, I was under the impression it couldn't be done. I also need to get some high build primer in something other than a spray can, slick sand?

Oh how exciting! It's coming right along! I'm hoping to be able to fire mine up here in a few weeks so that I can get some momentum on my side.

Mike lots of info here and some opinions from the HAMB on single stage paint and wet sanding.

Thanks a lot Mike, I guarantee you will be motivated once it’s running!

No biggie, hope that helps Mike. As far as high build goes our painter has been using Keystone Key 3 n 1, it’s a fairly new 2-part product. It was recommended by a long-time paint supplier, my thoughts are it must be good because several of my painter friends are using it. 2nd link bottom of page 5 gives the specifics.

Ready to be picked up after a final wet sand and polish. Such a fuss over white paint!

It’s a 54 Scott, neat old car that got a recent Roadkill write up. :metal:

Not mine, it belongs to a really good friend of mine. As a matter of fact, I just had to tease and told him his crusty old corvette was going to infect my nice truck parts!

Ha, here’s a pic of the headless painter with his 4-legged car wash mitt!

Also a few cab progress pics and more products used, reducer & kitty hair.

Ah, the kitty hair brings back such fond memories - so pleasant to work with and such a refreshing odor   Looking good!

The patches from the small hole are disappearing and the back of our cab is getting pretty flat. :ito:

I’m very pleased, he is just killing it! Thanks, Mike. :D That round of pics is from early last week and when we spoke yesterday he told me it’s gone through 2 more rounds of guide coat & primer. Headed over later today to check it out.

Core support is back on the frame for the last time (I hope), it’s starting to get heavy. Picked up this VSR style battery isolator. Wanted to try one of these rather than the factory style relay and Ford solenoid setup the donor RV came with. The plan is to make the cables a little long just in case this thing is totally el crap-po. :thud:

The AC condenser kit mounted up really easy and added this large trans cooler from the K35 donor after a thorough flush and a little fin straightening.

Thank’s, Ryan. In doing some research I ran across this style of an isolator and liked this one particularly because of the push button to connect batteries feature.

Thank’s, flashed more and more every day.

Started working on door panels and dung out door glass and vent windows. Stuff is in amazing shape spent some quality time with the vent windows, the felts are in great shape and the rubbers are now reconditioned and ready to go again. In the last pics, you can see the condition of the felts, right side has some sun fade but a few minutes with a black sharpie and it looks just as good as the left. :ito:
