Cool shift knob, Now I did not look to see where you were from till after I had this thought but I knew you lived in California by the club attached to your steering wheel. I used to live there and had one for every vehicle, now I live in Iowa and leave the keys in the ignition, go figure !!!

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Not so much for thieves. I can carry it legally on the seat if'n I get attacked.
That is why it's called the club. If all else fails I will pull the pin on the shifter. Thanks for the compliment. |

My wife and I used the old truck to haul a couple bucket loads of mulch and a dozen plants for our flower bed. We did lay down a tarp to keep from turning the wood red lol. The rear was on the bumpstops, but I drove slow. I love using the truck for little things like this (this one may have been a little much lol). People always want to talk about it and what they have or use to have. Always a fun outing. Here's a couple pics from the day.

Great job! Looks nice. Always good to use our trucks for what they were meant to do.

Started cutting my long bed to a shortbed. Got it disassembled today and yesterday. I wasn't able to use any cross sills because they were rotted (thank god my birthday is the 28th, lol) so I'll order new. Got 8" cut from the rear, maybe tomorrow night I'll get 12" cut from the front and see how she looks mocked up pending work. I haven't been getting home until 7:30-8 at night lately so we will see! |

Got the Weber 32/36 on and the new HEI in place. Used a small block wire kit because I couldn't beat the price. Dressed it best I could. 6 cyl HEI wires would have cost almost as much as the dizzy. Truck drives like a dream. No misses, hesitations, accelerates so smooth now. Still rowing the crap out of the gears going up hill though. I wouldn't call it a power gain as much as I would an improvement in drive-ability. I was getting mid to low 16's for mpg prior to this. Anxious to see the difference at next fill up.
