I had a question about the lizard skin. How much does it take to do the inside of the cab. I am going to do the floorboard, inner firewall, beneath headliner and basically everywhere you cant see on the inside.

Based off what you did how much do you think I will need? I was thinking 2 gallons of the sound insulator and 2 gallons of the heat insulator.

flamingbig10 11-29-2011 10:48 PM

Re: my 80 build

you'll have more than enough with the 2 gallons each

Who did your driveshaft for you?

flamingbig10 12-03-2011 10:43 PM

Re: my 80 build

http://stanhopkinscompany.com/ they did the drive shaft for 175 that includes a 4l80e slip yoke, 2 1350 solid u joints, and balance, they also built the 12 bolt for 230

Re: my 80 build

Today I put a vacuum bleeder on all 4 calipers, I was able to get a lot of air, tomorrow I'll do a manual bleed, I also set the seat back in the truck so I can mock up the accelerator pedal

Re: my 80 build

Re: my 80 build

what size

yellowGT 12-12-2011 01:23 AM

Re: my 80 build

20x8 backspaced for the front. I only have two though meaning you would have to buy the rear ones with your needed backspace.

yellowGT 12-12-2011 02:02 AM

Re: my 80 build

woah! I could just sell them to you. I thought about trading them for your cragars but they wont fit my chevelle...dont know what I was thinking.

Re: my 80 build

thanks for the offer but the money is a little tight right now. The inner fenders and radiator support is at the body shop, all the unneaded holes are welded up, and mud has been spread, the bottom of the inner fenders will be getting rhino lined

Thanks. I'll keep them in mind. I'm thinking of going TH400 in mine because I just can't crunch the numbers enough to make the 4l80 affordable. This isn't a DD, so I can't justify the cost to the "boss."

Re: my 80 build

Re: my 80 build

Thursday I installed a new crank sensor and was going to do a crank relearn but it wouldn't allow me since there isn't a signal to computer for the brake pedal or park brake. Today I started up the truck today it stopped popping through the exhaust and it idled a lot better, drove It down the street did at 20 foot rolling burnout had to let off it was starting to go sideways

Good to see you hanging in there Aaron and trying to get the efi working right instead of just slapping a different intake and a carb on it. If you're doing this yourself I know the frustrations you are going thru. Even tho I can access my ecu from my laptop and been playing with it for 4 years, it's still all Greek to me. How about another vid when you get a few more bugs out of it?
