1 Do you have any "final" pictures of your shift linkage and what did you have to modify 2 Do you have any pictures of the back side of the pedal mod/were there any issues on the other side of the firewall or did you just use the original pedal bolts to hold it in (i observed a ~1/2" bolt at the top) 3 any final horsepower numbers:lol: I am starting a 6.0 ly6/6l90 from a 2009 3/4 ton and these are a few loose ends I am trying to iron out. Your knowledge would be much appreciated! This is one sweet truck. Mine will not be this nice but I am shooting for something in the same ballpark. |
Re: 68 S/C update.....
Truck is turning out amazing

2. I didn't have to modify the pedal any. Its bolted to a flat bracket that bolts to the firewall using the 3 original nutserts that the original pedal bolted to. 3. It should be around 600+ RWHP Quote:

Re: 68 S/C update.....
Would you mind sharing some details on your oil and transmission cooler setups? I would appreciate the info.
From some of the pics it looks like you are using a Derale heat sink cooler mounted under the core support for oil. Didn't see the transmission cooler setup. Thanks - Chad |

http://derale.com/products/coolers/a...unt-kit-detail For the oil cooler I'm guessing you are talking about the stock cooler that came on the Camaro oil pan? I'm with you, I don't see a way to make it work with the slider mounts. I was thinking about trying something different with that, using a remote mounted cooler and an adapter. Not sure if you've looked at the ones from Improved Racing, but they have a thermostat built into them and AN fittings so you can mount a cooler wherever. They do have a version without a thermostat, too. Seems a little expensive and I'm not sure if its necessary to have an oil cooler anyway. http://www.improvedracing.com/cooler...28e4c74df943c5 Thoughts? |

Re: 68 S/C update.....
Hart Rod.... It took me THREE (3) days to read your 54 page thread... All I can say is... Wow... Your project is insane and you have given me several ideas for my new LQ9 engine swap. If you don't mind, I will begin picking your brain tomorrow. :D

Just curious... why did you decide on this brand over others? Previous experience?

Re: 68 S/C update.....
Yep, Circle D is the best choice for LSx converters. Great prices, great products, and great customer service!
|
Re: 68 S/C update.....
Circle D is great from everything I've heard and I also like Phoenix Transmission converters for a milder build. Both companies have great products and customer service

Re: 68 S/C update.....

I swapped out my 4" ECE dropped springs for some 5" ECE dropped springs. Now, it finally sits about where I had it prior to doing the LS swap and changing out the trailing arm cross member. It looks level but it still has a small rake. Word to the wise, when you change out your springs, stick to the same brand...
