You won’t believe it but I had some time for my own truck

I have a piece piece of carpet laying around for years, and from my sister in law I had some felt undercarpet.
Cleaned out the cab, took the bench out and went on with furnish.....
Never done this before, it’s a first try.

First I put some sound deadener on the back of the cab, hadn’t done that yet.
Then I put the under carpet in two seperate pieces, left and right under the dash. That was easier for me.
The backside of the cab I did in one piece.
I was doubting if I was using two layers of the under carpet, just because I had enough of it.
After a night good sleep , I did another layer of the under carpet. The front of the cab in one piece now, evenso in the back.
It is nicely done, if I may say so :lol::metal:
Hope to get it finished tomorrow.

The pics....

Thank you all!
It is finished now and Wow, what a difference in sound!!
Now I can hear my music when driving 70 mph
Sorry for the crappy pics...
Pic #1 back of the cab in sounddeadener
Pic #2 hardly to see, but I had to sew the middle of the carpet together.
There was a bubble which I had to cut out over the transtunnel. I used
Nylon thread and a bent needle, for leather or denim.
Pic #3 temporarely speakers behind the bench...
Pic #4 all finished :metal:

Hey Kees. That carpet looks great in there. How did you get your padding to fit the floor? Looks like you cut it for a right hand drive. You did a really nice job of it. Happy driving to you. Great show pictures too.

Looking good Kees! glad you had a great time in the States and I'm surprised you didn't buy another car :)

Unfortunatly I won't make it tomorrow for the Kings Cruise, and next week I'm off to the Isle of Man TT races, so it'll be the 9th of June before we meet at a meet.

Earl, what you see is the underside of the carpet, when I used the padding as a template. Then we have a right hand drive indeed ;)

Steve, I also wasn’t at the King Cruise this time, having trouble with the CV in the truck. Now I have a completely new wiring from inside the doors to the unit and still isn’t working right. I blame the unit. Time for a new set.....
I didn’t bought a “new” car simply because I don’t have the money
Still looking for a ‘57 Wagon tho...

Wow... the bike in it's original state would be something I'd set on fire just for fun..but what a change a few subtle mods make! amazing, really really cool.
did you do the saddle yourself?

The original bike is a shame for Suzuki
Luckily there are people like me that can help with these things :metal:
The seat is an Alie original ;) But had to cut the frame to make it fit. No problem!

Yesterday evening the owner got the bike back....she was overwhelmed!!
She was jumping around like a happy dog :lol:

Mission completed....
On to the next!

Last week we had a show “Cars & Bands, Stars & Stripes”
It is a show with only American cars and Rock N Roll bands, good show, fairly big for Holland. Unfortunatly I didn’t take too many pics.

Pic #1,2 just before the ride to the show
Pic #3 ‘55 Chevy Belair chassis built by Sander, 63Split on this forum, man does that look good :metal:

I had a little trouble with the airride, I had a leak in one valve.
But as I used to work on big trucks, those valves are repairable and so I did.
Also, I wanted an extra gauge for tank pressure, also wanted some other switches what looked more old school.
Last week I have built a new panel with extra gauge and “old” switches, looks much better now.
I had also a leaking pinion seal, that was my own fault. I drove through a just mowed grass field and the lying grass killed my seal.... That’s whats happen to lowered vehicles
Jaguar has them no longer in stock, so I had to order an aftermarket seal.
It’s in now and last Saturday we did test it all. My wife and I drove 270 km (almost 168 mile) just to see some Hot Rods and streetmachines :lol:
The truck did stand the test!
Coming Thursday we go to France with a bunch of our club, there is a festival called Cry Baby, only pre ‘65 and a lot of Rockabilly music. Gonna be fun!!
Now for some pics.
Pic #1. The pinion seal with what I took out the seal....
Pic #2. The old dash with airswitches
Pic #3. New panel with the “old school” switches and extra pressure gauge
Pic #4. The new look

Oh forgot, also had to repair the central looking system.
The doormotors went bad, or at least one of them.
After mounting a new one, it did not work like I wanted it, so I rewired the whole central looking system and put in a new unit. Now it works perfect again :metal:

Re: Dutch '59 Fleetside Longbed

Long time since I posted some....
End of June we went to Cry Baby, a vintage carshow in the north of France.
Going with two cars, and back with four, all clubmembers.
This was one of the best shows in years!!
Pics on my Facebook for who is interested, there are lot of pics! Also check YouTube for movies about Cry Baby Vintage Carshow #7, I know you will like it!!

Then, if you remembered, I was looking for a ‘57 Chevy Wagon....I found one :sexy:
Had the truck for sale, but only recently I advertised with it. Sold it in four weeks time :metal:
Sorry about that ;)
Now I’m going to build my pre-Born dream , the car I could not afford earlier.
By building this truck, this dream suddenly becomes reality....
So now I am the happy owner of a 1957 Chevrolet 4-door Townsman 210 Wagon with Bel Air trim ;)
Ofcourse there are some things that have to be done to this car, it’s 62 years old! But overall it is a solid car for its age.
I post some pics when we got it.
We, Sander (63Split on here) going to get it tomorrow, a little Roadtrip to Belgium, in style!
Stay tuned!

Sure I let you know where I put the new build, it is going to be in the same way.
Not a showcar, but a reliable daily driver.

All those people sticking heads out the carwindows just to take pictures and make movies or just to watch..... crazy people, for us Kool Guyz CC is this pretty normal ;)

Here are some pic of loading the car and bringing it to my little Hot Rod Shed.
I want to Thank Sander, 63Split, for all his help, you’re te best mate!! Thank you!!

Goodmorning!!
Happy Easter everybody!

It’s been awhile since I was here, sorry.
Life gets in the way sometimes.
So what’s up, well, I have been renovating my house since late June and now almost finished with it.
Had also a few hours into the ‘57, renewed the wiring, repaired the front brakes and steering. Dashboard is almost ready, just want to digitalize the stock clock (it doesn’t work now). Just have to do the rearbrakes and I can go to the inspection.
But, with this Corona thing going on, they are closed until further notion....

Then I have a question for you readers...
I was looking for a pdf file of a book for Chevy Smallblock.
I have more then 50 pdf files on my comp, all Chevy Related, but what I need, I haven’t got.
So if you have one of these books in the pics, would you like to share?? Or something in the like of these.
( don’t know where to ask on this forum, tried WTB parts, but I’m not allowed there.)
And if you are looking for a special pdf, maybe I have it, just ask, I will look and if I have it, I mail it to you.

That’s it for today, have fun and stay safe!!
