Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Thats the same issue I had wiht the wait4me harness. I ended up going with a company called performance systems integration. PSI.com Great guys to deal with and great product. On ebay also. $500 for the harness made from scratch built to your specs. Thickest part of the harness is about the size of my thumb. This one will be going in the cab for sure! :metal:

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
figures! i'm pissed... $650 down the ****ter

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
did you talk to the guy i mentioned?

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
The PCM was under the hood in the Escalade, so you won't hurt it. Have Bob make you a pretty box for your like he did for his. FWIW, I moved mine underhood from being crammed behind the cluster.

If you cant make it work like you want it to ( I couldn't either) give the guys at PSI a call. Their number is 1-732-691-6531. His name is John. Great product and great service too.

thanks for all the help guys! i managed to get everything all hooked up yesterday. i was able to get the check engine light to go on and i could hear power at the relays etc... i just couldnt get the starter to turn over though. i'm going to see how much a remote starter is at napa... if its too much i'm just going to try and jump the starter solnoid.
Today i have to pick up the tranny pan and fill everything with fluid! and fire her up! i'll get video of it today if all goes as planned! :D here's some pics of how i routed the harness. i think can go either way- mount the ecm in the cab and relay box on the fire wall or mount them both on the driverside fender... the way current performance did the harness it looks clean enough to keep everything underhood if i have too. I'll just need to make a fancy aluminum box or something for the ecm. |
Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Can't wait for that video man! It's getting pretty exciting!!!

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Dennis that looks great buddy! I think that will work just fine since you have the engine covers to hide the harness. Looks really good man.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
:haha: Ed, never holds any punches!!! thanks for all the great comments again guys!
:five::four::ennyd::ele: SHE RUNS!!!! i did manage to get a couple videos... they are kinda corny but there was alot going on and i was by myself:lol: i came to find out the tranny was in gear because in the last video the driveshaft started spinning! crazy good times! no leaks though:metal: anyways she idles perfect now but i have a code DTC P0122 which is the throttle position sensor. the sensor is good and all the wires are good. i had my neighbors brother over who is a tech for GM and he went through everything... to no avail. He thinks it is a software problem because the pcm doesnt like what its seeing from the tac module and its putting the motor in limp mode... idle only. i'm going to try and find a different tac module and try that... Monday i'll call current performance and see if there is a chance something got messed up in the tune. |
Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
 thanks guys!
last night i had a buddy bring over his tac module and pedal from his '02 esclade motor swap and i had the same result... just idle. soooo, its either 1 of the 2 sensors on the t/b or a problem in the pcm. he's going to bring over his pcm and let me try that tomorrow... if i have the same problem (no throttle response) then its the tp sensor. if she runs and i have throttle is the tuning in the damn computer... any insight or thoughts here guys? btw, where's Bob The Builder at?? |
Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
damn badass man! now put a milk crate for a seat and drive it ahahahah
|
Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
nice that sounds awsome. keep up the good work.
|
Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
You can find some one that has a snap on vantage tool. Then test the tps sensor and look at the graph and move the throttle and see if it responds, that test is done just with ignition on i believe.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Dennis, I keep going back to watch the video clips. I love how it wants to sound. Should be killer when you get it dialed in.
