Did a "mock up" of the glove box door. I think it will look really good when this insert (actually, another one cut to fit exactly)
is in the "chrome edged" dash. Also, installed the new alt. It all works now. But I had to create some clearance between the B+ terminal and the valve cover. Too many different years' parts on FrankenRAT.:lol::lol: |

Pulled the 13" billet steering wheel and installed a 17" stock type wheel. With manual steering and fat tires it just makes sense.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I replaced the vent window handle, replaced the brake pedal pad & spent way too long trying to hook up my divorced choke; first the square tab did not fit down into the pilot hole in the manifold - I had to file the re-pop piece and hone out the hole a bit in the manifold. Then I notice after I got it installed, hooked up & the engine heated up, the "loop" at the end of the bi-metal spring moves down towards the intake manifold, backwards to how my carb choke is actually set up and closes the choke flap & kills the motor & the choke linkage rod is too short. The PO replaced the original Q-jet with one from a Pontiac. Just another great day working under the hood! :metal:

On mine, using this internally regulated alternator, the one brown wire that comes off of the alternator plug runs into a connector that holds the blue and white wires, which in turn connect to what would normally be the blue and white terminals voltage regulator. As per M & H, the guys whose wiring set-up I have, on this alternator, the white wire that would otherwise connect to the single brown wire connector coming out of the alternator is not "used" and, therefore, "deadheads", or does not connect in that connector. Also, and because of this style alternator, of course you know that this set-up does not use use a voltage regulator.... Check this thread where a lot of our Forum pros helped me out: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=604860 |

terminal where the voltage regulator used to be. If it's the same set-up as mine, it should work just right. Thanks to the guys on that thread and info from a call to M & H. |
Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I installed my new glovebox liner. And worked on the RH side window, it would not roll down - it was all rusted up. And once it was all WD40'd up, I found out that the window regulator is worn out and now the window won't stay up when I shut the door or when I hit a bump while going down the road. Bummer!!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Welded inpatienly a couple weeks ago... warped the firewall a tiny bit, got. It fixed!!
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/634...0/849/838f.jpg Replaced the rusted piece above rear window, now waiting for (my new best friend) OSPHO to dry on the outside/inside inner/outer roof! The cold weather doesnt help! And built an air compressor enclosure...finally!! Now I can work later in the day, and when neighbors are out!! http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/634...0/812/lphh.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/358x476q90/36/acuj.jpg |

Went from buckets "back" to bench. The "Boss" wanted to put in the bench seat we got (and have had stashed) since I started the build five years ago.
These buckets will probably be available free ('04 blazer...electric/leather 9.25 out of ten 10) for a Forum Member to pick up. But I first have to ask my pal that gave them to me. |
