just got back and this is what i got done...oh btw, when you go from solid wire to flux core, reverse the polarity on the leads...oh so much better....you can tell by just looking at the pics....
not pictured, i did somewhat get the shifter linkage hooked up...its a little tight but i think it will loosen up over time...need to adjust for the reverse lights... Attachment 874018 Attachment 874019 Attachment 874020 Attachment 874021 Attachment 874022 |
Re: My 68 swb build.
It looks much cleaner! Are ya gonna fix the little crease in the blue fender before you install the light buckets?

thanks guys...you should see it in person...i think they look better in person. i just wanna get it finished. i was gonna get out there bright and early this morning but decided since Britts dad was over, why not finish the dang kitchen? britt and i painted 3 weeks ago and i told her it needed crown molding and bam....she got it today to finish the room off...heres what it looks like...now all we need to do is get her some natural slate on the floor, granite counter tops and shes set to go on a beautiful custom kitchen, what ya think? so far in total its cost me about 180 bucks to do the kitchen and start in the living room with paint.... back to my build...we got out there and got a few things done...not much but a little progress.... got the passenger window felt and glass in...i found it easier with help from another person to hold the glass in the door, unbolt the motor, slide the rollers in the sash and door track, rotate the motor around and voila!!! its in...got it in in 10 mins with 0 problems. you should see it roll up and down on a 18volt drill battery...weeeeee!!!lol
got the door latch out of the door, cut the two tabs off so it wouldnt ever lock on me(i wanted to keep the door locklever in) got a small hole drilled in the latch to accept a cable for the door popper and mounted the solenoid.. tried to run the cable and crimped it too loose, so i gotta redo it....dang...heres some pics... Re: My 68 swb build.

i got an a total of 40 mins to work on the truck today...heres what i got done....installed the door lock lever on the passenger door, adjusted the window track, got the drivers door latch back out, drilled the hole for the cable, remounted it, hooked the linkage back up and crimped the loop on the door latch. wouldve finished but i ran out of crimps for the cabling...also got the steering shaft in and secured...thats it for tonite...maybe more tomorrow, and hopefully ill get my door loom set in from brothers and my steering wheel soon so i can button up the doors...
