All of the parts are Spectre Performance components from Summit Racing.

Thanks for the encouragement Clem!
Ahhhhhhhh!
The snow is finally melting!!!!
It was 45 degrees here today!
I went up to the parent's, popped the garage door, pulled off the cover, and reached in and turned the key and started the biotch!...It started effortlessly!
Fuel injection is a wonderful thing!
It won't be long now!!!

I know that many of you will have no idea what these photos are of, but some of you will figure it out quickly!
I have been going stir-crazy with all of the cold weather, and not being able to work on my truck, so I needed something to focus on to keep from going postal!
Here are a few pics of what is keeping me sane lately...until the weather breaks anyway!!!

Just cutting some small slots!

Adding some small touches!

And here are a few items that I have already finished....
Machined & scuffed with #320 grit.

Polished vs. Raw!

Both Polished!

dude...
if you're making what i think you are... i need a complete set for that black dash on the utility bed. they would offset all that chrome and gloss black paint, perfectly.

let me know if and when bro...

Re: My Unexpected '66 SWB-Fleet-Restomod Project!

Hello guys!!!
The weather turned to be in the upper 40's & sunny today, so I stopped up to the parent's place to goof-around with my truck for a bit...
As it worked out, it seems as though it was "Steering Wheel Saturday".
Here are a few pics of what I accomplished!
Actually, the shift lever is a billet specialties piece that I have had in my DD Astro van for years, and I traded it out today with the stock one...After a polish job of course!

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...538/naObm9.jpg

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...661/Hudwkz.jpg

This turned out soooo very nice, and I am so happy with the selection that I made!
Let me know what you guys think!!!

It is something that came with the pile of parts that I received with this project...The nearest that I can tell, it is from a '91 Sub, but I am not positive.
I am purely guessing from the wiper delay module & research that I performed in order to make it work.

Gettin closer!!!

Just cutting more grooves....Very time consuming....
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...913/pZzbqg.jpg

Now I am starting to realize why I haven't made more of these. The are a real pain in the a$$!!!
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...673/1qzYaC.jpg

Seperated them with the saw, & machined the sides
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...661/QVJhuH.jpg

And finally they look like something!
Machining is complete! Now I just need polish them!!!

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...901/YrgLZ2.jpg

That's all I got!

Re: My Unexpected '66 SWB-Fleet-Restomod Project!

Hey guys!
Today I had a chance to get a little time to polish the heater control knobs that I made. It took a lot longer to polish them than I thought it would, but they are finally done!!!
Here are a few pics
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...537/CCOaps.jpg

And paired-up with the ashtray handles...
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...673/9KqiaA.jpg

It looks as if I need to make another ashtray handle! LOL!
I will need to add this to my list of things to do!

those look great! another thing that would look awesome, is if you can do the Chevrolet for the glove box! the script for it would be the hard part I think, besides finding away to get it to hold down! unless you use 3 longer set screws Loctite them on the back of the aluminum piece to fit in the holes in the glove box, an get the rubber grommets that hold them in! but that's just my thinking, would be cool though!! or a 3m adhesive strip!!

Thanks Chad!
Yeah, it would be cool to do the Chevrolet script, but I think that it would be easier produced using a laser and made from brass, then soldering studs to the back to retain it...But I personally do not have spare time like that!!!

A lot! Ha-Ha-Ha!
I am not really interested in trying produce these for a profit! They take me way too long to make.
They are just something that I make when I am bored, and can't work on my truck...I started working on these when the weather here was sub-zero, and I was going stir-crazy!!

Re: My Unexpected '66 SWB-Fleet-Restomod Project!

I get people in my shop once in a while asking what I'd want to do this and that and I'm like "with my jig-saw and file,... how about a million?"

Nice work man!

Thank you for the reply.

After getting what I was told is a '97 Astro Van column at an auto jumble yesterday, I looked at your initial install from page 20 of your build and reloaded the pics, amazing the progress you have made and continue to make.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

It will be great if I can get my £50.00 purchase to fit and work well in my truck.

Neat welding as well.

budnik makes some of the highest quality billet stuff (aside from you apparently), and that steering wheel is a great match to the dash.

Thanks for the compliment!
I have been searching forever for a steering wheel that fit my tastes, and I am very happy with the quality of this piece...The nicest that I have seen so far!

Thanks a lot!...It just isn't progressing as fast as I would like it to though!
But that is about to change.
