thanks! the stepside was my graduation gift from high school. the fleetside i have had about a month. next up its gettting stripped. has a "rattle can" paint job..looks horrible. its going to get painted either candy purpleor a candy blue. i want to leave all the trim..try and get the cab wrap-around, and the side moldings for it. keep it stock, but also custom

okay, after three days of looking through the pics ill finally post mine. ive had it for almost three weeks, but i just got back from vegas for a week(im so poor now).

the specs: 85, 454, th400, cowl hood, was told a 4/5 drop, not sure but it is belltech. tranny grabs hard as **** in second and sometimes in third, if its nice pavement. did a little tuning on the engine, but not a lot since i have a wife and an 8 month old. i want to restore it to factory looking, do some 5% tint, stereo, all that, just a big engine shiny cruiser. its just time and money. oh, DONT MAKE FUN OF THE WHEELS. i hear it all damn day!! those are the first things to go, they are just ugly as sin, but the 454 makes up for it, right?

Is that a Grant wheel? If so, what series. The grip seems fatter than my Challenger series. Of course I have the hard red metal flake and not the foam.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Looks like a nice starting point. I do think the 454 makes up for the wheels, as long as you let everyone know it has a 454!

Texasfunk that is definitely a nice pair of rides, I like the idea of a 502 in a shortbed.:metal:

Kind of looks like an early 67-72 CST wheel, definitely interesting.:chevy:

First plan is to lay the rockers on the ground. Then we're going to paint it (A few different color's we're still looking at), re-do the interior, and hope to come home with a few car show trophys.

Cool you will have to start a build thread, and keep us updated.

SulphurDave's truck is the tan/bronze colored one without the bed cover, the silver/gray one with the bed cover belongs to nicks05z71's father.

Both trucks are top notch in my book.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Jason Hill builds some of the best square bodies around. The yellow one was in Street Trucks as a Budget build...I think the Vintec wheels look better on it. The colors are over the top especially the Terra Cotta interior..

JohnC 06-24-2009 03:26 PM

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Yeah we are all real familiar with Hill's trucks. They are inspirations for a lot of us here. I haven't seen a bad one come from them yet. Do you know what suspension items the red and white one has done to it?

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

HAHAH i have the magazines with both those trucks as covers or builds. The yellow and white two tone was a 12,000 budget build featured in Street Trucks thats where i got the idea for the stance i want on my truck. you forgot to put the Blazer they did thats bagged its brown and green pretty sick considering its a blazerhttp://www.fehrarules.com/Hills_Blazer_1.jpg
