My 05 Crew AKA the TURD.

I sold my 03 VW passat wagon money pit, and my 95 extended cab and purchased this with some money to spare.

Why is it called the Turd?

Well I went to a used car lot to look at this low priced truck and the guy kept calling it a a turd, " you can polish a turd but it's still a turd". He claimed the motor was done as it "knocked a bit" and had low oil pressure. We finally met at a price and to his shock I drove it the hour home. When I pulled in the driveway and let it idle the oil pressure dropped to sub 20. I shut it off, ordered an oil pump and bingo, truck is fine. It has it's dents, scratches, and bends. But this translates into not being afraid of USING the truck. She does seem to clean up well sometimes too. I'm at 299,250 miles as I type this. Painted the trim awhile back since It got that faded brown that all this trim gets when it's been in the elements. Overall very proud of this truck. :smoke:

Thanks, I'm constantly trolling the classifieds on here looking for parts for it. Selection seems to be pretty slim here anymore. I remember when i was on here for my 73-91's and the classifieds were booming.

After towing some trailers and hauling heavy loads I found the rear lift springs were sagging a bit so I added some lift blocks to get it back up sitting right.

See the sag:

My new to me truck. newest vehicle I have ever owned. 2007 Silverado Classic W/T. 4.8L and pretty much just the bare basics. I loved my 02 W/T and glad I found this one. Not sure why it has the Nissan Armada/Titan alloy wheels, but they look good to me. For now it is a good cleaning, replace a few trim pieces, and a new head unit for the sound system.

I've had my 00 Silverado since '05. It's a great truck. 210k miles and I've hardly had any problems with it.

I decided to fix a few little things a while back. I cleaned, polished, and waxed it. I replaced the grill, corner lights, and had the windows tinted. I need to polish the wheels better, but I want new ones soon anyway.

I tow a lot and the 1/2 ton has worked well enough, but I had a Duramax briefly in the past and I've always wanted another one. I picked up a '01 for $4000 with bad head gaskets. It has exhaust, a tuner, a fass lift pump, and a set of new snow tires, so I'd say it was a good deal.

I'm gonna overhaul the engine, re-upholster the seats, swap to the newer grill and bumper, paint it, and I bought wheels to put on it. I'll probably leave it stock height. My wife won't let me sell my 1/2 ton since it's what I drove while we were dating so it'll be more of a toy and I'll use the Duramax for hauling stuff.

Beauty! What size wheels/tires do you have on it? And how much do you have it lowered?
