don't think twice about the photo request, looks like you got your hands full with current project list.

Thanks Clem you motivate me beyond words dude!!
I really appreciate your stopping by and adding your comments!
And yeah, I think what I got going on right now with the guages should have the effect I am looking for......

Gotta agree with Clem, your Exhaust Manifolds are very nice, and the Gauge Pod is gonna be sweet, knowing what skills you possess as I watch your build! And as a teaser, Gonna PM you a surprise soon...

Dude!!
I totally dig the artwork, thanks!!

You've been making some nice progress. I'm interested to see your gauge panel.

Thank you sir.
I keep forgetting to call that guy about that 73 I spoke with you about....

Glad you stopped by to take a look anyways!

I imagine Bomp and I would turn out some pretty freeky rigs if we were to truely corroborate on a build!
It would be awesome fun, and many a beer and pizza would be sacrificed as well I think !!

Ok on to the meat of the matter

Here I am using JB Weld epoxy as glue to hold the individual guage bezels in place, and as a filler. I like that it dries slower than bondo, but it runs too. However with patience and close monitoring it yields excellent results.

Ta2Don sent me this today!
I totally dig it, it really calls up the image of what we have coined as my work place moniker.
Well played my friend, and thank you!!

Thank you all for tuning in, everyone that stops in to take a look at my progress honors me greatly, whether you post a comment or not, just that you are curious enough to look is pretty awesome in my opinion!!

I'm still available to take a look for you, if the seller is willing to make the trip. My work load has only gotten worse, so still no chance for a trip for me.

Awesome work on the dash. I really like the look of the rings for the gauges. Did you cut the rings from tubing or did you roll them from flat sheet? Keep up the great work!

thank you sir, I appreciate it!
I have a whole list of CL listings to follow up on when we get into town this year. Luckily it is a Bloomsday year for us, so we will be there the last week in April, thru the month of May.
Kinda hoping that some of these rigs that did not sell over the winter can be had cheaper for cash in the Spring....

Thanks Matt, I used 2" exhaust extension I got from the parts store.
I determined the angle, loaded them up in the vise at that angle, scored the cut with a cutting disc, then cut them all around. After that I used the bench grinder to fine tune them. They seem to be working perfectly for what I have in mind.
Obviously I wanted a 3D dash for my guages, I was afraid that if I did not do something eye catching with the guage panel, then people may over look the guages themselves....

I totally know how that goes man!!
Although I dislike poetry, there are times when the words just start lining up in my head and I have to get them out onto paper. It is often like that with my art too, I get an image in my mind and it wont let go until I put it on paper as well....

Well Flips, here it is !!
Congrats on the TOTM nomination! That is going to be a heck of a voting this month!!

***************************************************************************************

Here is the cluster panel mocked up for a test fit in the dash.
I wanted to make sure everything would have room, and fit in the intended space before I unboxed the actual guages.
Attachment 1061895

Yep some assembly required!!
Attachment 1061896

all hooked up, ready for some testing!
Attachment 1061897

I SEE THE LIGHT !!!!
Attachment 1061901

Until I get the steering column re-installed, all I could test was the high beam indicator light, the L and R turn signals will have to wait a bit, but I am pretty sure they are going to work just fine.
Attachment 1061902

There you go guys, another crazy idea from me, put into practice.....

McMurphy,
You did a good job on the dash and gauges. Last time I looked I looked it was in primer. Feels good when you get something done.

Yeah I just found on Coulter's build thread where I first posted that I wanted to get them, almost a year ago.

Hmmmmm interesting idea.... I would certainly not know how to contact them for that sort of thing, but to have them sponsor a future build or two I have in mind would be mighty cool !!!

You should see them in real life, I popped the seat in this weekend just to see how they would look from "there" in the drivers seat !! I am such an amature, but I like how they turned out.

dude you inspire me! Some of the stuff I attempt is due to your willingness to just jump in on a project! If I had dismounted my cab, I soooooo would have done the ceiling the way you did yours!

Feels even better when a bunch of guys take the time to look at your work and speak up about it, so thank you for that !!

I am just a beginner at this stuff, and I still have not pulled half of the rabbits out of my hat yet on this build.
Just think of what I will accomplish on my next one !!

*****************************************************************************************

Ok since there will come a day (less than a year now) that I will have to leave (escape) Alaska, I would like to see all the stuff I am not going to be using, and not going to be able to take with me; go to a good home.

At this point I am pretty sure I am not going to need or use any of the guage pod stuff in this photo, so if you have a want or need for it shoot me a PM please.
Disclaimer::::: this stuff is not for sale!
I do not have a sales account here and dont want any MODERATOR woes....if you need it, it is yours.
Attachment 1063747
On the other hand.....
I really really really want another one of these parking brake gizmo-bracket (trunion?) to finish up my p-brake set up!
If you have one lying around you dont want or need please let me know!
Attachment 1063748

Also it seems my stock wiper control has gone AWOL, so if you have a 66 era one in a tool drawer someplace soaking up grease and dust, please let me put it to good use!
I have torn my garage up 3 times now looking for mine, and no luck.

Anyways, thank you all again for your gracious comments, and taking the time to look at my junk !!
