http://www.brotherstrucks.com/techar...20INSTALLATION They say: "The replacement seals can be installed on the door two different ways/directions. Only one way is correct and will create a proper seal against the cab. The other way may “look” correct but will not properly seal against the cab, leaving room for air and other elements to leak. The CORRECT installation will have the large lip of the seal facing inwards towards the cab." |
Re: 58 GMC Project

Re: 58 GMC Project
Yeah, I sat down to get some inspiration. I planned on working on my 59 today. Well after reading every page of your build, I'm done! It's now dark outside and I have a sore back from sitting here for X-amount of hours. I did learn a lot though...LOL Thanks for posting all the pic's and info.

I got a new project I'm picking up this weekend. It's a 1966 Chevelle. I know it's not a truck but I thought I would post a picture.

Re: 58 GMC Project
Nice that one should be a breeze to do.

Re: 58 GMC Project
Nice!! I like both the 66/67 & the 70 when it comes to Chevelle's!!
The roadstershop.com 66 is a BEAST!! http://www.roadstershop.com/complete...-1966-chevelle |

Re: 58 GMC Project
If you haven't found it go over to chevelles.com, ton's of information there. I am one of the original members, but because of the focus on my 59 don't spend much time there. My DD is a 64 Malibu, but I have always loved the 66's, I beat the hell out of one when they were new. It was friends that couldn't drive that well and he let me do the hammering on it....

Re: 58 GMC Project
Well if your Chevelle is ANYTHING like the GMC, I'm gonna be green with envy. I'll have to come check out your progress over there too. I have a 65. 65's and 66's were my two favorite years. And yeah, it is a GREAT site!

Re: 58 GMC Project
Cal58,
I love that body style, I sure it will be a great build just like the truck. |
Re: 58 GMC Project
I love those Chevelles too, my first car was a 67 chevelle that I built with my dad and drove to high school.
You should put a link to that build in your sig so we can check it out. |

Re: 58 GMC Project
I hope he heals up and can get back out in the garage. I went down there today and mowed his property...with the help of my brother...lol. He was really struggling. The distributor drives right off the front of the Jesel belt drive. We used it in the boat when we were running it. It helps because the intake is really big and there isn't much clearance for a convention distributor. That is actually a vinyl wrap...it is really nice. Looks a lot like paint. Good luck with your chevelle.

Cal, I have sat and read the entire thread like a book. Wow. Your truck obvious has shown how much passion you have for the hobby. I have notice that so many on this site share the same love and passion. I look forward to sharing my build and learning all I can as I journey through my special build for a lost friend. Congrats on a beautiful truck and for sharing you skills.

By the way, I love what you have on your signature and I agree with you 100% on that one! "Only two defining forces have ever died for us: CHRIST died for our salvation and VETERANS died for our freedoms. Glorify CHRIST and thank VETERANs' |
