Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
higher then? I thought the steam connection had to be higher then the steam line itself and where it comes out of the heads? In order to bleed off air bubbles, the reason the line is there?

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
well i went out and looked and the water pump and fitting are higher than the heads. and i imagine the pump is sucking from the heads also rather than just bleeding off into the radiator.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Where you did it is perfect. I am going to do mine the same way just ned to get the fitting to install into the pump. Looking good man.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
the firewall is just about ready for primer and then he's going to do the inside. and prep the bottom for undercoating. i'd like to get the cab back all painted and finished but i think Rich wants to hang the doors before he does the outside... i'm not sure how it's going to work out because either way its gotta get jammed and i want to get all the wiring done with auto meter gauges and put down sound deadener.

well not much of an update but things are in motion!! ive decided on the wheels i'm running:D changed it up to the eagle 225's! i'm going with 245/40/20's front and 295/40/20 rear kdw2. a buddy is also bringing over some esky 3 piece engine covers totest fit so i can get the engine harness dialed in. (hopefully in the cab) i'm driving to Colorado to pick up my covers in July  but i just need to know now if and where to drill the hole in the firewall for the harness. here's a photochop of her new wheels...

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

Those wheels will look sweet man!

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
thanks to you ive lost sleep, pulled out my hair, and stressed over those damn 225's ever since i seen them on your truck!!
as for the tires i have those on my goat and i love them... they are noisey! but the performance makes up for it on the car anyways. i'll have to look into the toyo's. and the covers are the stock 3 piece fuel rail covers on the 6.0 ho motors. im getting them smoothed and painted body color. should set it off real nice and hide all the wiring and stuff. thanks for the compliments... i sure hope they go with the older body lines and trim. been going back and forth between the coys. cant stop comparing the 2! |
Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
I have the Toyo's going on the Bull. I have had them on several vehicle before, and have thoroughly enjoyed them...quiet, great wet & dry weather performance, and they last. Just my .02

Those wheels look good Dennis! The cab is looking good too. How much did you get the wheels for if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking a set for my dad's truck.
