Re: my 80 build
about 4 miles, I got it all back together, test drove it no leaks, so it will be taking me to work
|
Re: my 80 build
4 MILES! Thats not far enough to even get the engine up to operating temperature. You could walk to work!
But where would the fun be in that? Smoke 'um son! |
Re: my 80 build
I let it warm up for a little bit, wile I get ready for work at it gets to operation temp by the time I get there, today I aligned the front end and checked the truck over, I got cleaned up filled the truck up with gas and went to a car show but got there to late after the show was over went to a car cruise then I noticed the fuel tank leaking again so when I got home I pulled the rear bumper, and wheels off and slide back the bed doesn't look like the hoses so I'm going to pull the tank again and see whats going on,

Re: my 80 build
that sounds great, I haven't done much to the truck lately except drive it, I did add the old subs and amp back in, bolted up the flywheel inspection cover had to trim a bunch of material off but it fits, In a couple of weeks I going to get the exhaust fix and get a tune

Does the H3 pan hang below the main crossmember? I am in the process of converting my K5 to 2wd, but am running the stock truck pan. I am going to swap to the H3 pan (GM calls the 'Muscle Car' pan kit') and hope it good enough since mine will prob bagged all the way around. Thanks!! |
Re: my 80 build
the pan does hang about a 1/2" or so below the cross member, I did take the truck to the track last night first pass ever 13.74 at 98 in the 1/4, 2nd pass 13.8 at 99, 3rd pass hooked good 13.6 at 98, 4th 16.8 at 88 left sideways with a hole lot of tire spin and coasted down the track, can't wait to get the 3600 stall, shift kit, drag radials and a real tune, should help it run low 13s high 12s
