Great pic Kevin!!

You're right Gerald, hardly phased him at all. He's more bummed that he can't go ATV'ing with his Grandpa next Saturday than anything else.

On another note, I got a $25 Shell gas card in the mail today. I cashed in some debit card rewards points. :metal: And since I bought the engine and most everything else for this swap on my debit card, I should have some KILLER points built up next time around!

Re: Glock's new project: "Fred"

Not much for updates, except that I've been driving the snot out of this thang! I haven't quite reached the half-tank mark on the second tank of fuel through it yet. :D Only problem I've noticed so far is that the passenger side pump only puts out 50-51 psi at idle, and only 1 psi more at cruise. There have been no performance issues, and the truck runs the same on either tank (58 psi on the drivers's tank), so I'm not worrying too much about it right now. I do need to look at the data to see if it's running lean, that's all I can think would happen.

Oh, one good thing.... Going to go pick up a rear end tomorrow! Bought a dry 3.42 rear from a 91 C1500 with good brakes for $200. So that will be this weekends project. THAT'S going to be awesome!! Not only will the speedo work correctly now, but I will be able to experience all of the 5.3's power, and the mpg should go up a little.

I was comparing tire size and gearing to the 03 I use to have. My 03 had 255/70-16 tires and 3.73's. It got 19-20 on the highway consistently, even with the blower. My gearing chart shows that combo turning 2250 rpm's at 77 mph.

With Fred's 275/60-15 tires and the 3.42's, it should turn 2250 rpm's at 78 mph. Almost identical!

Add to the fact that Fred weighs just over 1000# lighter than my 03, and I think the mid 20's are do-able. I'm already seeing 20-21. :metal:

That's awesome Bob. Not only did you make the entire swap look like a cake walk, but now you are going to gloat your great mpg in front of us too?

Where did you put the fuel pressure gauge? which tank selector switch valve did you buy?

He's doing awesome, thanks for asking!! He's such a good kid, he hasn't complained once. Then again, he is the center of attention right now, and he's a lady's man at school......

The sensor for the gauge is on the fuel rail, and I used a Pollak high pressure switching valve.

Thanks a lot. I get 8 mpg and see 3850 rpm at 70 mph with my 5.13 gears and 32" tall tires.

If I only had 28" tall tires like you I would be at 4300 rpm at 70 mph. Can you say 5 mpg?

Yes, overdrive is in my near future.

Okay Bob, now get on with the E85 stuff and the A/C stuff. It's been nearly 6 days since you got the truck up and running. What is the hold up? ;)

I did get an 88-98 rear end bought, did you miss that? That will be going in this weekend. :D
