Great pic's as usual. That's ALOT of fires you got going on over there! Almost unimaginable, sittin' down here. I was just reading Kimberly is on Evacuation Alert, 4500 people. Telegraph Creek having a tough run too. Stay safe!

actually about 3000 people evac'ed across the province right now Billhilly, and another 19000 on evac alert. we're actually down to 564 fires as of today. there has been more fires this year than last yr, but the fires last yr were waaaaay bigger.
lesser amount of fires last yr, but almost 3 million acres went up, almost twice as many fires this yr, but only around a million acres burnt so far
smoke has been the biggie this year, just blanketing everything...air quality index goes from 1-10, ten being bad...it's at anywhere from 20-40 depending on where you are....:waah:
http://google.org/crisismap/google.c...mbia-wildfires

but it's not just here only...i think people need to realize global warming is'nt fiction. we never had this many fires ever when we were growing up. we used to get maybe 6-10 days of mid 80's weather in the summer (30C) now we are getting around 30 plus days of mid 80's weather, which is drying things out much more and making the forests ticking time bombs....
Calf, Wash, Ore, Greece, Siberia, Europe, BC, all on fire, our planet seems to be getting hotter, which sucks, cause there is no planet "B" if we cook this one...;)

Larry, Ian, my son and I with our friends Pam and John went into the mountains this last weekend and did some wheeling. Hit the Wheeler Lake trail and Mosquito Pass.

Wheeler lake is listed locally as a difficult trail, but we went for it anyway.

Airing down for the ride..

This trail is in a historical mining area. The beginning passes under the building for the Magnolia mill.

Larry running up the first hard spot at the "flopper" We all hugged that wall on the driver side.

John getting close too.

Me attempting the middle line at the "v-notch" obstacle. It's steeper than it looks!
https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1886/...2a15e45f_b.jpgIMGP0012 by Rob Zulian, on Flickr

I ended up on the end of my winch cable as I just didn't have the right line and we didn't want me to snap another front shaft early into our weekend.
https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1899/...27a60e83_b.jpgIMGP0021 by Rob Zulian, on Flickr

Larry taking the far left line on the same section. He ended up on the end of the cable too as his unlocked 60 wouldn't pull him over the top.
https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1858/...25cc8958_b.jpgIMGP0028 by Rob Zulian, on Flickr

John walked over it. He took the middle section but went more to the right and caught it diagonally.

Excellent DSuper5! We camped right at the base of that rock formation in your first pic on our way home from our desert trip this last June. Then we drove right through Page to get home. Love the area for sure. Oh and I'd kill for a Burb like yours too.

Medano Pass is a nice easy run, but very pretty at the same time. I've camped just down from the summit on the dunes side at the edge of the creek. I want to take a weekend and do just that, camp above the dunes (usually free of the touristas staying in the dunes campgrounds), wheel out of the park (hint hint, you don't have to pay the national park entry fee if you come in off of the pass) and then drive up to Villa Grove on 285, turn and go east over Hayden pass. Camp on the pass somewhere and then drive down back to hwy 50 and back home. Again, it's not a crazy rock crawling trail, but just rough enough to keep the Subaru's and other Crossover's off of it.

You need to get that K5 out on some dirt. Once you gain some elevation you really don't need air conditioning anyway.

Well Rob I took the Wife Today to look at the fall colors and convinced her to take the K5 ,We stopped for lunch on the tailgate and took a short drive off the pavement 2 times, YES twice  We had a good day . A fast 4 hours, nothing overnight.
