Took my latest project in for front end alignment, all good to a point, all systems functioning, brakes bedded, clutch a bit stiff, will take some getting used to or adjust later, corners like a go cart, only glitch, 78k mile transmission seal decided it want to leak….easy fix, new seal will be here tomorrow…

Cleaned up the taillight connections.
Lights are a lot brighter now. Had to use PB Blaster to get the old bulbs out. |

Sounds great TJ! Looks great too! Glad to see I am not the only one that uses Spray Max 2K clear coat in a rattle can! :)

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV
Sounds pretty rowdy. Not what I would expect a straight 6 to sound like.

I didn't do anything sexy to my truck but I had a small transmission leak at the mechanical speedo connection. Finally (hopefully) fixed the leak! Leaks are super annoying!

No, it's a Tremec T56 Magnum 6 speed. Love the trans...hated the leak. I finally bought a new mechanical speedo adapter from Bowler (has multiple Orings). Pricey, but worked![/QUOTE]
Okay. I only asked because I had a 350 that I could not get to stop leaking from that location. |

Picked up my Suburban body on Friday after blasting and primer. A little rougher than I thought.
Spent the weekend assembling my suspension, also cleaned and painted the engine. Not quite the color I wanted but it will work. |

Moved my engine forward around 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch to give me more space between the distributor and the firewall.

Chased an electrical issue until I finally figured out that there was a grounding issue for the bulb socket to one of the tail light housings. Putting the housing on the negative post didn't work. I had to run a wire from the bulb socket to the metal housing to complete the circuit. Strange, just on the one side. I could have just bought a new housing, but a short chunk of wire was cheaper. :)

Bled the brake and clutch systems, replaced the leaking air bags with springs and shocks and got it back on the ground.

First time using my new tractor to do something with my truck. Boy oh boy - perfect fit with the bucket. |

I used to be able to just lift the hood off by hand by myself. Seriously. |

I modified my finned air filter cover so that I can us a center stud instead of the complicated way it was originally attached. I might end up stripping the paint and having it polished to go better with my new aluminum heads on my new 355.

I'm digging that truck, end of story. If I had it, it would be all black, except for the Ed Hubbs style flame job. :metal:

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV
Got the truck back from engine installation today. I am now the proud owner of a blueprint 355. It definitely sounds and feels different at idle. I have only basically cruised with it in light traffic. I need to take it easy for the next 500 miles. It is tuned down right now so that I don’t push it hard. The dyno sheet shows around 420 hp and around the same foot pounds. The mechanic said I need a Heavier truck. It sounds like he played with it a little on the freeway. I am excited to see what it can do. I will take photos soon. I am not happy with my new Accessory brackets and everything like the hoses and plug wires need to be routed better.
