If my dipstick tube contacts, I'll try bending and forming for clearance or find one that does clear. Darn...well at least the used F body pan works. |

I plan to leave my steering in the stock location so I may have to modify the frame a bit if I can't move the engine to perfect center. I am going to try and bend the dipstick tube too but maybe a fancy lokar one would be better. I don't have a dipstick for my 4l60e at all so if I go lokar atleast they will match. It just barely touches so a slight bend should do it if you aren't running a fuel rail cover with the set opening for the dipstick. You must have used the f-body pan too? It worked really well with my Mustang II IFS. Did your manifold come with gaskets? I didn't see any in my box. |

Guys, apologies for lack of progress and updates.
As often said, life does get in the way. My wife's cancer returned last summer so I've lost enthusiasm for working on the Burb right now. We have a real battle going for her health, so your prayers and positive thoughts are appreciated. The Burb is right there on the lift just waiting.... And while my heart isn't in the Burb right now, we did buy a new car trailer (she insisted). Check it out here....http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=1#post8185000 |

Re: 48 Burb, bagged, 5.3, 20 year wait
I couldn't imagine going through this. Aside from praying, honestly try this simple thing. Eat a plant based diet. very little or no cheese, dairy, meat. Cancers thrive on animal protein. Its a big lifestyle change for some, but it is more than easy these days. Worth a shot. Tons of documentaries and studies out there to back up this diet and how it helps so many people with diabetes, cancers, chronic pain, weight loss list goes on. Think about it, what is the most important thing for our bodies? Food, air, water. Doctors have their place, but rarely ever ask about what you eat. Bless you, your wife and family.

Well, I fixed a shop roller tire that kept going flat. Pretty lame I know...though at least it was something I did for the Burb.

All the shop time and play over the years is paying off. Oldest Grandson was able to get under there way better than me. He tightened the fasteners on the back side of the license plate. And the younger one held the fasteners for us.
Maybe it was silly, I was really proud of the boys for helping. They did well. Wife laughed and said...Oh fudge....! Ralphies line in Christmas story when he was helping his Dad change the flat tire, and the lug nuts went flying. |
Re: 48 Burb, bagged, 5.3, 20 year wait
Doug; :mm:
I seem to remember that most of us got our start doing the same thing; I pray that the wife is having some good days with the boys too; I send a pray to the both of you; It has been so cold(no snow) just wind n cold. I have not been doing much in the shop on the build. Once it start to warm up I have alot of work to do to get started. Enjoy your time with the boys.as they grow up fast. T-P Auto :chevy: Tim |

Burb project is still on pause, though I am starting to get more enthused to continue on. Grandsons have been asking... wife is fighting hard and holding stable. Praise the Lord!
We’ve had the front of the shop jammed with stuff since we’ve been busy with some upgrades to the back half of the shop. Feel free to check it out if you haven’t already. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=760563 |
