Re: SoCal checkin' in
Guys,
Earlier today I sent John over here for some advice because I could not think of a better way for him to get like minded advice and local sources/contacts. Being up in the desert probably 90 miles away I'm not much help and airbag installtions are pretty foreign to me as well. |
Re: SoCal checkin' in
Welcome to the board John, lots of good folks here to help out. I don't know anything about bags but can help with just about everything else.

Vince ;
Consider taking a Welding Class @ Trade Tech , it's a good school and I know many who've enjoyed the learning . Practice makes for perfection , gather up some scrap fenders and have at it . |
Re: SoCal checkin' in
Thanks fellas. That part of the cab is not anything im going to use so I figured I would practice on that. Nate, im probably not going to take that class, but I appreciate the info. I will keep at it.

Nice truck ! you'll easily find an unrusted original hood at any local Pick-A-Part , just keep those hood hinges well lubed as these are serious hood benders . |

Re: SoCal checkin' in
I do like the stance
ram horns off a pick n pull or someone getting rid of some will be the least expensive, but if you go shortys try speedways tru rams a lot of guys with our set ups are really digging these. By the way good job VDog Posted via Mobile Device |

Thanks gentlemen. Of course its not with out issues, I have to change the lower ball joint on the driverside because the boot got damaged. Unless someone knows where to buy just the boot, its going to be changed. I have two sets of ram horn, one is powder coated the other is rusted. Like headers but for now I might just install the horns. Which ever I get, they need to be spark plug friendly. LOL |

Thanks Lee. I found tie rod boots at OReilly auto parts, but no luck on the ball joint. |
Re: SoCal checkin' in
Think im going to get my collector cut off today and run straight pipe for now that way I can still drive it until I figure out which way to go. Or I need to change up to 18's or 20inch rims and that will solve my problem. Too many decisions.

Re: SoCal checkin' in
Tried putting on the yoke I got from summit, didnt know there was 2 diff spline shafts! Of course I got the wrong one, the one in my truck is a 16-18? Spline and the one I bought is a 28 spline :(

Hopped up. What axle do you have? If you have the Eaton 3/4T I may be able to help you out.

Re: SoCal checkin' in
New to the boards checking in from SD. 69 SWB Stepper. It was falling prey to a couple orange trees and avacado trees for quite awhile, so she's a rescue! It's in pieces in the garage but my ECE 4/6 drop and all new steering linkage will be here this week. rocking the Straight 6 because its awesome, and I don't want to hit the pump on a daily basis. Hooker long true dual headers, holley 390, offenhauser alum. intake. Taking the engine to TJ for a full rebuild...flat top pistons and mild cam and all new internals. Any guidance as far as what rebuild kit to get??? Planning on the CPP BIG Brake kit as well, any reason why I shouldn't? Oh, and I'm going to rock the patina look for a bit too. Thanks for reading,

Welcome to the board and to the SoCal page. Now let me ask what size wheels are you going to run? I think that kit starts at 15 inch or bigger. Someone else can chime in on this if im wrong. When you get a chance, post some pics up of your truck. Also there are a lot of us here thats in the same boat so hit us up. You never know someone my have what you need. We have a few members in your area so if you search this post, you might find a neighbor. |
