Or... If you have deep pockets... Run the Baer Remaster with the undermounted prop valve. It's clean and not really noticeable. http://baer.com/site_images/Slices/i...emaster_81.png

Thanks dudes! I can’t take much credit, this PB stuff is amazing. Zero mock-up before powder and zero issues at final assembly.

Stripped and recoated the Belltechs in my custom aluminum A-frame paint booth. Also hung the uppers and the new CPP rack. Waiting on paint to cure, press lower BJs, then get her back on her feet!

Thanks! Spindles on, brakes and tie-rods next, then back on the ground :chevy:

Got the Kore3 C5 brakes back on, snugged all the bolts, and set her on the ground. Found out my 5/8” drill bit is bent, so tie-rods will have to wait. Suspension should drop another inch or so with weight, but I’m thinking I want it lower... :smoke:

Thanks guys! Good to have it back on the ground, if only for a bit. I’ll put it back up on the crib stands soon to work the underneath bits. But first, it’s rust repair time... :waah:

Should sit really nice. Danny's truck (Painter D) sits perfect. I'm betting yours will be the same. That LS is kind of dirty.....

I couldn’t wait either, had to hang a fender...

I love the look of Danny’s truck. I’m probably an inch or so higher than he is, based on info he’s provided me. I think I’m ok with that, but I’ve also been strongly considering the PB bolt on body drop...

...and the payoff: :D Sits about like an aired-out stock suspension, but with tons of ground clearance and full lock-to-lock steering. 4.5” at the front cab mount, 5” at the rear, which is approx 3” lower than where I started. Guess I can start calling it a 9/11 static drop :smoke:

That's where I have my 64 mocked up (4"F; 5"R). I've been gathering up info & researching shock data. I'll be pulling the PB front upper bag mount & modify accordingly to allow the spec'd length coil overs.

Feels like a good height to me. If I remember correctly, your rear shock mounts should accommodate a coilover, too.

Correct. The shock length is the same for the C10 & G-body rear set-ups. I'll just need to fab some lower brackets.

I have a set of cowl-mounted Porterbuilt hinges powder coated and ready to go, but I have to install a cowl first...

Thanks a lot! Looks like a bunch of work left to me, haha

So, I removed the inner cowl today to get rid of the rust problems. Seems the rubber that PO used to fill the wire run collected water underneath and rotted the firewall. I’ll have a fair amount of repair to do before installing the new metal.

While I had the wire wheel on the grinder cleaning rust, I decided to start removing the undercoating or bedliner or whatever it is from the firewall. I ended the day looking like a coal miner, but glad to have made some progress.

Thanks for the kind words. Not fun, per se, but definitely gratifying. I am enjoying the opportunity to get in there and make it ‘right’. I was getting a little excited identifying all of the holes I want to weld up.
