Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
A little while back, Rian (Grizz) sent me a text with a pic of 3 Crosses he'd welded up…

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
My weekend started off with big plans...
Had the use of a plasma cutter, that decided to quit after cutting about 5% of what I'd planned on cutting...:dohh: After the Plans to cut a bunch of stuff were scrapped, I spent the remainder of Sunday starting the filling process of the pool and spending time with the wife...:mm: Today I rolled the cab into position to get started on preparing it for re-installation… https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/446/18...0fffaa4a_c.jpgIMG_3441 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr After uncovering the tarp, and discovering a colony of ants had taken up roots on the roof… a bit of ant spray and off to work… https://c4.staticflickr.com/8/7796/1...cd582e8c_c.jpgIMG_3443 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr I began by removing the heater box and wiring harness… This switch will have to be replaced… https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/293/18...73137a88_c.jpgIMG_3445 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Spaghetti... https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8766/1...f4e8a95e_c.jpgIMG_3447 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/417/17...5a49f6b0_c.jpgIMG_3450 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Good plan on replacing the 50 year old wiring… these wires hooking up the turn signal flasher have obviously been overheated… https://c4.staticflickr.com/8/7780/1...7b07c8c2_c.jpgIMG_3449 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Then it was on to the floor… The hole for the Automatic shifter had to be welded up and a new hole for the 5 Speed shifter cut… Then weld up 44 various bolt holes that had been drilled into the floor...:crazy: https://c4.staticflickr.com/8/7758/1...effa2836_c.jpgIMG_3451 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr https://c4.staticflickr.com/8/7749/1...15abc3b9_c.jpgIMG_3453 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr https://c4.staticflickr.com/8/7749/1...15abc3b9_c.jpgIMG_3453 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8816/1...11e15326_c.jpgIMG_3455 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/284/18...60f1df54_c.jpgIMG_3456 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Next is to grind the welds a bit, prep the floor for the sound deadener, sand and paint interior, install yet to be purchased wiring harness… and on and on… Moving forward...:metal::chevy: |

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Looking good brother!!!! I used peal and seal from lowes it was a lot cheaper than some of the other stuff and it looks just like it. I think it was $16 dollars roll and I used 3 rolls on the floor.

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
good work don. i just got my harnesses from classic truck parts in kansas city. pricey but fit and function were very good. i'm not a rewire guy, much prefer to just plug up repro wiring and be done with it.
the floor in your truck looks in great shape... keep rocking on bro. |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Yes the floor looks great

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
I've been a little behind in staying current on everything going on. Belated congrats on the wedding ceremonies. That has to be a gratifying feeling for everyone involved. Hope everyone is having a productive week. Regards, Mark.

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
I think I may have an extra resistor for the heater Don. Give me a day or two to look for you. I have a whole 65 heater boxed up and use for it.

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
I do like the idea of the flip fronts on our trucks.
However, just how sensible and practical is it? (Knowing sensible is not a word used to describe me often) Red truck is absolutely stonking. |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
your project is moving along great Don. always like seeing the progress. good work partner...

Did you get the 710 cap off my FB page? ;) I also used the peel n seal works good. |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
So yesterday while visiting with a friend at the car show, he asked how the rat project was coming along… I explained that I was at a standstill while working on the 65… Long story short, he's now the owner of the 47 Rat project and I'm the owner of this…

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Morning Don,
Great move on the trade. One thing I have always said, is that there is no emotion attached to my toys. Want them? Swop, trade, pay and they are yours. I like it so far. Rat Wrecker sounds like a good thing too. |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
That looks like a possible quick flip. Or a good weekend hauler.
Score! |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Good swop Don and being a driver it's a win win . I guess you are just going to just flip it . Or are we going to Clem's in it if the stepper isn't finished ?
|
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
great score Don. looks like a wealth of good parts and maybe a fun driver.
|
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
