Thanx Brotha!!!:metal: Missed your call yesterday...:waah:
Had a crazy day yesterday, Was woke up at 0430 and then unable to get back to sleep…Then after doing my first tattoo, my son Jeremy called, he and his fiancé' were stranded in a local grocery store parking lot with a broken Alternator belt… Soooooo, the hottest day of the year so far, I was lucky enough to help him change the belt...:waah: Seriously Black Blacktop, and not a cloud in the sky… and of course, NO SHADE!!!:dohh: All that just to explain that after a slow start this morning… it was off to the farm to change the oil in the Boss' Honda, then TRUCK TIME!!!:bann::metal: Got the tarp off the cab, prepping for the metal work and bodywork that lays ahead… Then put the Passenger door on the work table (2 Sawhorses and 2 2x6's) and proceeded to get the mirror holes filled...:uhmk: 16 penny nail heads fit perfectly...:metal: Oh Yeah, today beat out yesterday for the hottest day so far, 98 F and extremely humid, Heat index was 104 F...:waah: Thankful for fans...;) Here are some pics of the mirror holes…Before, during and after… :mm: Next step is sanding the entire door looking for any other areas that may need addressing...:sumo: Stay COOL Guyz and Galz!!! |

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Thanks Guys...:mm:
The nail head idea hit me while I was preparing to fill the custom trim holes on the Driver's Door I picked up… I wasn't looking forward to cutting 6 little plugs with my cutting wheel, so I started searching my plethora of junk in coffee cans... Seems I have trouble throwing anything away… I may be able to use that later mentality came from my early days in the military and my boss who was the king of hoarding…;) …Anyway, when I moved the bucket of 16 penny nails, that rarely gets touched due to my purchase of a framing nailer, and the proverbial light bulb lit...:metal: So I grabbed a nail for a test fit, and BOOM, fit perfectly...::hot: A quick cleanup on a wire wheel and then break out the Spark Makers!!!:metal::metal::metal: As for stealing that idea, that's one of the perks of this board… I have stolen quite a few and am happy to share my ideas, so that they may be stolen...:uhmk: |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Jojo seems happy.

Was hoping to get up to Dwcardfan's today to fetch my new to me frame to replace my bent one…Alas, Life sucker-punched me...:waah:
No Worries though...:mm: I did get the passenger door primed, and did that while enduring a very hot July day here in Arkansaw...:waah: Heat Index was bouncing at the 108F mark… Then at 8:20 this evening it was still hovering around 102F… Here are a few pics of the door before and after primer… Also one of JoJo catching some wind on the way back into town from the farm...:uhmk: |
