Sold/ Delivered the Apache Saturday, picked up the super cool engine for the Suburban on Sunday and have laid out a transformation plan starting the first week of December.

Well, I finally found a sepentine belt that will fit over my Dorman power steering pulley. Bought the PS pump on Ebay, not realizing it didn't have a pulley on it. Bought the pulley on Rockauto, not realizing it was larger than stock and wouldn't take the stock belt.

So, after the holidays the motor gets plugs & a coolant temp sensor. If the parts I ordered every show up, I could bolt up the 4l60E & put the whole mess in the truck before New Years.

I finished shrinking my steering wheel and installed it today. Took a tip from Skymangs (sweet 16 build) and used an early 80's Ford ring. Got a new horn button and contacts so my horns work now too. The wheel looks white in the pic but it's the same light grey as the interior.

I got the wheel from Pull-A-Part for $12 and epoxy cost $20, so cost was $32 plus sandpaper and paint.

Put my new fenton headers on. Painted the fentons and the stock intake with VHT Ceramic Aluminum paint. I hope it holds up, whenever I have it back on the road.

Well, on the four day weekend I got the front fenders, bumper, radiator support and hood hinges off and took out the seat. Found an abandoned mouse nest and a dead mouse under the seat and cleaned up the interior with a vacuum.

Went to Pick-N-Pull and the wife and I pulled a set of Cadillac Catera seats for her truck. They say they are made by Recaro. Super comfy, classic looks to them for being modern bucket seats. She originally wanted bench seats until she saw these.

Ditched the junk quadrajet for an Edelbrock 1406... Huge difference!!! New fuel pump and fuel lines. New plug wires. Dual radiator mounted electric fans!!! Busy day with lots of progress!

Never driven a I6 before, but I decided on dumping a 292/5 speed in mine when I was doing the build. Something different and I am amped to see how she runs.

Ordered the rebuild kit for the Monojet carb. I am going with the stock setup until I decide to change the setup around to split exhaust.

Had to replace my well pump, but indoors I made a decal for "Patty Cakes", using my wife's photo and an Air force Logo. The truck was an Airforce "follow me" truck at Nellis AFB, and Patty was the the one that wanted us to have it for some fun. So in her memory she will always have a place to ride shotgun.

Test fit the bumper and welded in the 1 3/4 tubing plugs that slide in the 2" tube welded to the frame for the bumper. Filled in the top to more closely match the body/fender coutour at the fender curve, cut and filled the sides to match the wheel opening angle and found out I put the whole thing in UPSIDEDOWN! :metal: .....but I like it. It's off to the chrome shop today.

Oh man I know too many stories that are similar and even worst than yours. Its sad, but you simply can't trust a lot of guys to do what they say now days. The my word is my bond thing is fading into a thing of the past. Not with me though my word is my bond that's why I'm not quick to say I will do something.lol

I'm kidding, I'm KIDDING!!

So what's the latest on your truck, Bam? Been kinda quiet on your thread lately.
