I like to put a Trans. Temp sender in the line with one of these... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATM-2287/

That way you don't have to unhook it everytime you change the filter and fluid.

I say red with a white stripe like the truck. Why not.

i say paint them red and have whoever made you that scrolling badge make a scrolled piece to go all the way down the center of the valve covers....its just money and it would look killer

Your engine should look like that after 20k also. Without the exhaust crossover and hot intake baking the oil. Mine looked pretty clean when I had it open at 20K. Does your shifter get into all gears and also is the column adapter made by Lokar or your custom design?

Thanks for the link. I was wanting to use the factory lines but it looks like I may have to do something different.

Totally agree. Shifter goes into all gears. I will still need to do some fine tuning after I put everything together to stay. Are you talking about the shifter arm bolted to the bottom of the column? If so, that's the Flaming river builds their columns.

1st opinion would be black Powdercoating/or paint (glossy)

2nd opinion would be chrome plating or chrome Powdercoating
Awesome job your in the home stretch now!

Thanks guys. I'm still debating. I'll probably shoot one of each color and see which one I like the best, :D...

Accomplishments today:

Drilled and tapped oil port to install oil pressure sending unit.
Painted one of the valve covers red (not sure if I like it yet).
Mounted the fuse for the air bag compressor.
And I finally started on the wiring......... what a mess....:D.

Wow all that and you found time to look at my mess....
I like the red, looks good.

Re: 1969 SuperBurb build-up (Bagged and Blown!)

I'm diggin' the red cover,it just needs the coils laid on it to mute it down a little. Mac

Re: 1969 SuperBurb build-up (Bagged and Blown!)

I like the red. Just be careful of how many of the liquid refreshments you have while working on the wiring, or it will be a fried mess. LOL. Do you have the part number for the oil pressure cover with the the knob like your using. My Chevy dealer keeps ordering me the plain covers. Thanks. Looking good.

Re: 1969 SuperBurb build-up (Bagged and Blown!)

Nice progress. I think the red will be good once you have the coil packs on it to break it up...

jbclassix 07-25-2010 07:29 PM

Re: 1969 SuperBurb build-up (Bagged and Blown!)

since your SC is cast finnished, your valve covers should be cast finnished too. More red, or no red. The lone red valve covers just scream corny.

I thought the same thing. It looks better with the coil packs back on it.

, I didn't think anybody saw that. I think you need to be drunk or crazy to jump into the middle of this wiring mess, :). I don't have a part number, but I know mine came off of a truck pan. I have an extra one if you can't find one local. Let me know.

OUCH!!! I see what you're saying, though. Since they're pretty easy to take off, I'll probably wait until everything is together to see how it looks before I change them again.

I like em!!!

Re: 1969 SuperBurb build-up (Bagged and Blown!)

I think it looks good. Plus, the headers are similar color to the blower so it will break it up just enough while tying it together with the burb.

kvn1011 07-25-2010 09:30 PM

Re: 1969 SuperBurb build-up (Bagged and Blown!)

i agree!! the coil does break it up just enough!! lookin good!!

jbclassix 07-25-2010 10:54 PM

Re: 1969 SuperBurb build-up (Bagged and Blown!)

maybe paint the fuel rails red too, add a red pinstriping design to the SC snout, black wires (red might not match hues). don't worry, my opinion cant be all that important, I have been told by my smarter half that my black door panels dont match my burb!
