The tires/rims are 16 insh stock style steelies with Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tires. I thought they were RS-A tires, 265/75R16. New stock leafs all the way around, no sag, that is why it looks lifted. I will get some pics of the suspension soon, I looked at it last night and the front leaf pack has 3 in it, the rear pack is a 5 leaf.

Cool to see a small back window K10, like it, happy building, good truck to start with, are you keeping it a 6cyl too.

Thanks! Should be keeping the 292, its a fun motor and fires right up plus its already got clifford intake and headers on it which the previous owner installed

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

Well a 292 is almost a 300ci so still get cubic inchs and quite a bit of torque from a large 6cyl, plus you already have some add ons so a good start, maybe for more power could upgrade exh system to go with intake and a better breather element and should pull pretty strong.

Its funny you say that the exhaust is already run duals all the way to the back of the truck with an X-pipe the only problem with that is whoever installed it blocked the fluid top up plug on the transfer case with an exhaust pipe so when I wanted to check the fluid I had to undo one of the header flanges and use a C-clamp to move the pipe over to get the plug out. So thats high on my list to get fixed up so I can keep an eye on the fluid level.

On the plus side is sounds fantastic and has loads of torque, the gas mileage remains to be seen haha

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

nice the rest of the exh is done, a bit of changing it but still done, as foe gas mileage..it's never great with a full size but the cool and comfort level cruisin in an old gal is worth it all day.

My 1967 K10
she has lots of work in her. still sitting stock height, but I put a newer front axle under her to get better joints and brakes, added power steering and brakes. currently starting on a 5.3 swap, because the tired old 350 I has a god awful noise coming from a rod bearing.

What size wheels are you running on your truck? 8", 10" or 9.75" camper special wheels. I love that stance. I've found 16x8 and 16x10 at Vintage wheels and I'm not sure which ones to buy.

Picked up this very original and clean '71 GMC K1500 recently. Has a 350, 4 speed, and cool old cable operated Warn winch. Body and frame are very clean.

Are those tabs mounted on the front for a tow bar?

Looks like we have the same Warn 8274 Winch? Do you need the steel cable for your winch? If yes, I have the original 150 ft. steel cable that came off of mine. In great shape. Let me know ... I'll make you a good deal.

Thanks.

landy 12-09-2013 10:33 PM

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

Yes, those tabs on the bumper are for a tow bar. The winch doesn't have any cable so, yeah, I'd be interested in what you have.

Right now it's the original 350, it's been rebuilt once about 10years ago.
