There are three different length pushrods. Two different intake and then the exhaust. It may have been the cut up pushrod that caused me to miss it on the length. It may have had a smaller od end on it than my pushrods. The seat was higher in the new lifters. It threw everything off.

We got it running Sunday evening. I was in the shop from 8am till 7pm. I should have quit at 5pm. I had a little hiccup and chunked a pushrod. I think everything is going to be ok though. My new alternator belts were too short but I'll have some more tomorrow. Chrome don't get you home but some newly added stainless hardware cleans everything up a little.

When we got the truck running I wasn't showing any fuel pressure. I've been messing with it the last two days. I finally had to pull the cluster. Like I haven't had it out enough times this winter. I loosened the isolator line at the bottom and bulbed antifreeze into it and capped it off. Luckily it's working now. I didn't know if it was the gauge or my pump .The way my luck has run lately I wouldn't doubt I had a pump issue.

My new belts were here when I got home today. Luckily everything worked out. I only had 10.25" to 10.75" of centerline to work with on belt size. Andrew at Jones Racing Products sent me the right belt. They have to calculate the tooth count on both pulleys and the centerline to get the right length.

Well I feel like a Glutton for Punishment right now. I'm loaded and ready to leave in the morning. When you go from 80 degrees one day to 30 degrees and rain and you are trying to go racing? It makes you question your Sanity. But we are heading down south in the morning.

Be careful. Highways are slick North of you. Had to scrape windows before driving anywhere after work here in Dallas. Hopefully the moisture doesn't migrate that far South & spoil the opportunity.

Thanks Scoti. It's just wet here now and around 32 degrees. Luckily the ground is too warm to cause any issues. We're heading out in a little while.

Things didn't go well in Belle Rose. I made two hits and burned up and exhaust pushrod. I had other issues I didn't realize. It's all valvetrain related. I have the motor out and the pushrods are being sent back again. I have an issue with three rocker arms that I'm trying to fix. Spare rockers seem to be unobtainable and I'm not sure mine are up to the task. I'm calling all over the country looking for spares as T&D are 12 weeks out. I can buy a whole set but that would be probably close to $2500.00. That isn't happening. Just another example of what's going on in this country unfortunately.
