That GMC is a really nice unit. Great find! I've always like those Internationals. I don't think I've ever seen those body panels on one before. Both trucks are stand outs.

I talked to the owner of this neat little rig in Topeka last weekend. He bought it new in 73 and put 3 million miles on it. He sold it to a guy who did this conversion on it. I think the guy hauled a race boat with it. He bought it back and tows his Stock Eliminator pickup with it. I can't remember what it's powered with now but we were talking about tire speed ratings. He said (Speed ratings? I've been 125mph in this one). |

We had our ATHS chapter annual show yesterday. First one since we moved it from rain-out April. Great weather at least for this year. Pretty good turn out. I may have shown Bill Mason's IH cabover in other show pictures but I've never highlighted it. Bill operates a heavy haul business out of Baltimore, he likes IH and he likes their traditional green with Omaha orange. He said last week they did a 160,000# and a 200,000# haul. I don't think he works this one but I think he used to, then restored it. Check it out. He built it to be able to change-out the back half. Crazy set-up |
Re: Trucks Are Beautiful
I've been wanting to make it to that truck show for a few years now. Hopefully will catch it one of these days.

The photo of this IH Special K posted is reproduced in 1/43 diecast by ixo. They have a nice line of other trucks too. Really like the early 60's Pete logger.

Picked up some Gravely's and a David Bradley Friday with the '61. Not much a load for the truck, but an enjoyable trip none the less!

I just had that come up on YouTube today but hadn't watched it yet. Rare tri-drive, wow! I'm going to watch your video now and see what that's all about. mighty fine big B
Ok, watched it. It's a mighty fine truck. I'm disappointed there was no narration. I was hoping to learn something about this truck or watch it move, not just look at it sit and idle. Thanks for posting. |

These '56 cabs got an extended production run up to '62 when built in South America. I believe they used Perkins diesels also, something the American built Fords never offered.

That's cool to learn. Handsome truck right there. I like seeing US Brands in other countries and the differences they had. Whether the same bodies or ones never offered here. I guess these belong in the GM thread, but they fit the current topic that ford led my to

Now that's a big Cat! I always appreciated seeing the blue Werner trucks. I learned after seeing them many years that the company goes back a long way to at least the GMC Cannonball days. And the paint was red!
