Thanks Bill. Looks like you guys had a great time as always at CTC. I really wanted to go, but I made some good progress on the suburban. Next year may finally be the year I can bring the burb over there....:lol:.

Cruise control is wired and tested (Hopefully it works when I get the truck running, :ito:). I finally finished the gauge wiring and installed the cluster in the dash. Got the tilt steering column installed for hopefully the last time.

I also made a bracket to hook up an E-Brake switch. I wired the switch to the gauge cluster warning light that will notify me when/if I leave the emergency brake on, :metal:. Here's the thread on how to do the E-Brake switch setup: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=425922

Devil is always in the details.. Amazing how long that list is, and how much each little item can take.

Thanks guys, I appreciate then encouragement. It seems like this project is fighting me every step of the way :lol:. Everything takes twice as long as I thought it would or I end up redoing something over that I thought I had finished.... :waah: Oh well, it will get done when it gets done :metal:!

I'm right there with you guys. I told my wife that maybe the next truck would be a stock resto. But I can't stand the thought of stock and plain. :lol: Keep at it Rob. Those small things that don't look like much are the keys to getting the final touches in order. Too bad there are always so many to do.

I hear you! I have a notebook that I use to keep track of what I have to do on the suburban, but every time I cross off 1 thing, I usually add 2 or 3 more things to it.....:waah::lol:

That's funny... sounds exactly like what happens to me. Especially with this LS swap. I just bought an e-level upgrade for my air management... "might as well while the truck's apart" :lol:

Well last night, me and the wife tackled one of the tasks I hate the most when it comes to building these trucks, bleeding the brakes........:waah::me2::drama:. It seems like every time we do this evolution it is always painful.

Well this time I attacked the task a little differently. I double check all my line connections first, I used this little brake bleeding vacuum tool at Harbor freight, and I said a small prayer, :lol:. 3 pints of DOT3 brake fluid, 2 small leaks at the front calipers, and 60 minutes later - it appears I have a good solid pedal and no drips!!! :metal: :metal: :metal:

Nice, glad that went well. Damn these trucks look good with the roof racks. I've always liked the look of nice and clean and smooth with no moldings, roof racks or emblems, but these trucks change the way I have thought about things in the past. I wish I could get my hands on a nice original roof rack. Any more up close pics of the rack itself? I have a friend who has a CNC table and has been cutting a good amount of custom metal pieces lately, maybe he can remake it?

That's a great feeling. The worst feeling is when you keep finding leaks during that process. Been there.

Thanks, I love the original look of these old trucks, but I enjoy the function and performance of modern cars! If you look through the thread, I have some really good pictures of the roof rack.

The tune still needs a LOT of WORK (I don't think the injector data is correct, :waah:), but at least it runs....:metal:.

Thanks guys! Was really happy that it went as smoothly as it did. I need to get the exhaust on it next and then I can start tuning the motor and transmission. Here's a few pictures of it backed out of the garage yesterday.

Thanks guys! Still working on the tune and I need to replace the Corvette fuel pressure regulator. It's only putting out 50 psi and should be between 58-62. At least its running well enough to move it out of my shop so I can insulate and sheetrock the inside. Pics all aired out.

Very nice on getting it running, it sounds great! Nice on the publicity too! Man, seeing these burbs slammed sure makes me want to repo a burb I have and build a slammed one!

Thanks guys! Not much progress on the Suburban this week as I've been trying to get my shop finished up. Insulation and sheet rocking should by done by the end of the week, finish the trim this weekend, then paint everything this Monday....:metal:.
