Wow that sucks. Seems like when you go back and get another mix of the same color they always mix it a lil different. Part of why I'm considering a custom color or going by a very specific/simple mix. I'd love to do mine in Stacey David's Copperhead Orange w/white top.

Thanks guys. I will be doing the spray on liner on the floor, but the sides have to be painted. That wood bed conversion will look funny sittin in there with black bed walls. Really hope we get to fix this soon!

Dang bolts get rusty quick in this southern weather. Anyone make orange spark plug wires, or would that be too much orange?? What about something different than the usual black wire loom?

If I remember right Taylor makes a set of orange plug wires.

I wouldn't go with any other color than black on the wire looms. I usually try to hide the wires and not draw attention to them when I can't get them out of sight. The black loom helps make them disappear.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

i have to agree....I like the hidden wires the best as well as black loom or the fabric style loom but still in black. I did the colored loom years ago....blue to match my blue 1980Z28 and chrome on a white VW turbo diesel beetle I had....but in 2011...that look is played out :haha:

I believe Summit Racing has a nice set of 8mm orange wires. And yeah, I'd stick with black loom on wires too!

Agreed. They match alot of other stuff under the hood.

I made a super trac bar out of my adjustable today. Still got to get a sleeve for it so it will look cleaner. It may not look as nice as the $150 trac bars but it only cost me $6 to make. :metal: WOW....that's dusty. Bringing her home for the weekend to start cleaning it for the show on the 16th.

I bought an adjustable also instead of the super trac bar. Was just going to eat it. What exactly did you do? Pics!

5/8-18X3 ft. All thread rod, 3 jam nuts to fit, and a nice peice of 3/8 thick metal from a Toro 32 inch mower!! I used the bolt from the rear differential and drilled 3/4 inch holes for the u-bolt and the rear end bolt. Worked great. It is alot more sturdy than you would imagine. It took 20 minutes to drill each hole. I will be using a tie rod adjustment sleeve on it instead of the jam nuts. The sleeve will allow me to adjust it without removing either end of the trac bar since the sleeve is reverse threaded.

Slick67 09-27-2011 09:56 PM

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

Oh. Forgot to mention that most tie rods are 5/8-18 so that should make it really easy to get a sleeve to fit!

Slick67 09-27-2011 10:04 PM

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

The part off the mower is easy to get because most yard crews remove them since this part makes the mower too wide to get through standard fence openings. Who woulda thought?!?!? I just cut it in half after drilling my holes. The ends are already bent at a 90 degree so the hard work was done for me!

If you need a better pic, I'll be able to post it tomorrow. Hate to see money wasted on parts that we THOUGHT we needed just to turn around and lose money on selling or trading them.

It's the stock Turbo 400, that should handle the 327!

Cool, I hope it helps out a few of yall that got stuck with an adjustable. Oh yeah, the tie rod sleeve didn't work so I went to the hardware store and got a 5/8-18 connector sleeve, it's about 3 inches long and will work fine. The jam nuts will be used at each end of it and another jam nut at the end of the trac bar just for good measure.

I got the engine bay cleaned up and waxed for the most part yesterday, cleaned a little on the frame today so I can do some touch up paint on it. Started to wet sand the truck again to get it even smoother, but I only have 1500 grit here at the house so I will have to get some 2000 and work on it for a couple of days. It's starting to look better. I brought her home with me for a few days and will take her back to the shop sometime next week. Still not happy with the engine ventilation.

Thanks dude! The bike was my inspiration on the color for my truck, so they are almost a perfect match. That candy and pearl really pops in the sun, and has alot of people asking what I used when they see it in person. It is kinda different......but in a good way!

Thanks, it was kinda random, I saw the colors and tried to capture it with the camera. Came out ok, but still didn't show the neon lime green.

Thanks! You and the wife should come out to the Niftee 50ees again. I will more than likely be taking it to the last one which is the first weekend in November. Should be a great turnout with weather permitting.

Ordered some breathers for the valve covers today from So Cal Speed Shop. This will eliminate the engine pressure and look pretty good doing it. I'm gonna install them on the end of the vc's closest to the firewall. Thanks 67Cheby for pointing those out to me!

It should work if you have another way of venting the engine, pcv, carb intake from the filler.
