Low Elco - Just saw this note. I have not ever been to Clem's deal. I'll have to check that out. I went to college in Fayetteville but man that whole area is WAY different these days.

I'd like to go if he ever has it again, looked like fun when I couldn't go.

In on topic news, fighting moderate to severe case of burnout that's affecting lots of things. Got the marine Seafoam for the tank of the boat, taking everybody to the lake Saturday for a last ride. Got a bunch of stuff re-hung in the shop to accommodate the new cabinet.

i did brakes and wheel cylinders on 4 wheels, and now the heater core replaced on a 1970 Plymouth Valiant that a friend of mine brought me from Spencer's Island,Nova Scotia.there's a cool story about Spencer's Island and the "Mystery of The Mary Celeste" built on the beach at Spencer's Island about 150 years ago,if anybody wanted to look it up.his mother bought the car new, plainest thing she could buy,no radio, power steering, brakes or carpet, but 51,000 original miles and never driven in winter.what a car.it was nice to work on and see Canadian made parts, still working after 50 years.

It appears that your property/ homestead is just off of the coast.

I'm curious, how is the fishing?

hi,this is our home.at the end of the front lawn,we can go right down onto the beach and that's Chignecto Bay,part of the Bay of Fundy and the Atlantic ocean.we have about 8 acres here and my dad was born right across the road.there used to be a big wharf with some fishing boats, just to the left of our place but mainly built to ship coal.the wharf and boats are gone.we can see boats in the night, all lit up way off to the west but they could be from a place called Advocate,Nova Scotia or across to New Brunswick which is about 12 miles across the bay. folks all around here fish for sea bass from the beach.they are a beautiful silver fish with pure white flesh and great eating.they fight like crazy.i forget exactly the rules but they have to be 28 or 30 inches long or you have to throw them back, too young.they come close to shore on the high tides, chasing little fish and when the tide goes out, they do til next time.i have a picture somewhere of my dad with 2 on the kitchen floor, about 4 1/2 feet long

Had to rig up a fan for my Chevelle . One of The Flex-a-lite fans crapped out dead short really heated up the wire too smoke coming out from under the hood . Called Dewitt radiators about it because it was their setup . They put a 30 amp fuse with 10 wire from the battery in the harness and it’s connected to a 12 to the fan from the relay . That’s the wire that melted before the fuse finally blew out. Long story short they stopped using those fans and changed to Spal . Guy says that I should have gotten an email to change the fuse to a 20 amp .

Replacement motor 6 weeks out so I just took a motor and fan from one I had laying around on a shelf. Worked out well just a few mods to make it work . But the good news is that they gave me 20% off my next order so I ordered the 2 row 1.25 inch tubed HD rad as the car was running warm at highway speeds . A/F mix spot on and timing advance also so it pointed to the old 2 row 1” rad was a tad to small for the new engine

2nd load of firewood . Most likely two more should be good stacked in the basement. About 6 or 7 cord have an extra 4 all seasoned just in case .

Also made up the brake lines on the Toyota this morning

I did nothing. Just let the phone ring. I was numb.

My brothers girlfriend called me and told me that my brother had died suddenly. Totally unexpected. I had just talked to him and he was fine. We talked the same old BS as usual.

When his girl called me last night. I immediately knew something was wrong. She never calls me. Especially late at night.

She said that he fell asleep in front of the TV and never woke up.

Thanks guys. It was a shock. I lost my mom about a month ago. That really wasn't a surprise. She was 91 and in very poor health. This time it was different. He was only 66 and never drank or smoked a day in his life. He was very health conscious.

I still don't know what happened. I've been contacted by the medical examiner but they just asked me questions and didn't tell me anything.

It's ironic. My father died the same way. Sitting in his chair watching TV.

I think that I'm going to sell my TV.

Paul,
So very sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers for comfort to you and your family.

Lost my sister in law the same way back in 2016, she was only 42 and my wife's younger sister. Two weeks later lost a good friend of mine and our last conversation he had called to check on how my wife was doing.

Hope you are doing well, Paul.

*No Paul, I'd hate to see you do that. Don't sell your TV, just try laying down or standing up. My dad, in his later years, had a thing about lying on the floor in front of the TV. If you gave him a $10,000 chair he'd still lay on the floor. The TV didn't kill him, diabetes did

* I hope it's not too soon to match your humor. Look for comfort in all this but also let the grief run through, because it's there and needs out.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I'm watching as the paint chips fly off my neighbor's house, and land all over the place. Like my driveway and side yard. One of the benefits of acreage is not having to put up with that, but my wife wants to stay here and never move again. The painters went at it with a pressure washer yesterday, and circular sanders like car buffers today. I moved my vehicles (after the neighbor warned me about 2 hours before the painters started) yesterday, but left them there today. I for certain am not going to have them in the driveway when they start painting. These people always hire buffoons, it never fails. They'll get overspray all over everything. We had our house painted in '03 or so, and the painters made no sort of mess in the neighborhood. I was working out of town when the work was done, but was back and forth and could see that they weren't pigging the place up. I don't want to park my vehicles too far away, because the wife is the one who likes to vandalize things, and is the reason we have security cams up.

special-K 09-15-2021 08:17 PM

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Anyone can open a paint can and put paint on things. It's doing it neatly that makes a painter. Many who call themselves painters out there aren't. Many who don't call themselves painter will paint for the money.
