Yeah, I agree. Keep this post going! I'd like to see some of the older COE's posted too, even if it's a little off-subject. Some of the 40's and 50's COE's were just funky looking, but cool in their own way!

Those are some cool trucks! :metal: Wish I had one of the small dumps for hualin wood.

Has anyone taken the 427 badge with the vent behind it and grafted it onto a C10 hood yet? Any pics?

We plan on painting all three trucks with the same old triple tone paint scheme...

I'll be sure to update when we get them done

Attached are some photos of my current project 1993 Silverado with 78 ford dana 60 axle swap and 6v53 detroit diesel. Have n80 injectors to help get 'er down the road and a Jake to get 'er woooowed. Also turbo is from 6-71.

Truck may not belong in this thread... but i thought it wouldnt hurt to share a picture or two.

I saw that Crewcab at Macungie last spring. There was a sweet Advance Design in Woodland Green with modern suspension and a Cummins/overdrive trans.

I want to see that fleet of Generals. It`s a cool fleet as it is.All painted will be awesome.

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to post this as I am a new member; but: does anyone know where I can get a driver's side running board/step for a 1972 Chevy C50?

Also, I noticed you guys talking about weather there should be a forum for these bigger trucks and whether it would do well. Let me just say that because of this tread for bigger trucks I have joined this group.

You would have to find a truck a take it off of it, or get one custom made.

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!

I am another GM medium duty fan who joined to mainly talk big trucks. I rode this bus to school all through grade school and then bought it a few years ago when I had the off chance experience of finding it. Its a 1987 Chevy Wayne 54 passenger from Baltimore County Public Schools and has a 366 gas engine and an Allison AT545 transmission. I built the RV port for it and am in the process of getting her running properly again.

PS: GM used the 67-72 style hood/cowl for the school bus chassis all the way up till the first quarter of 1984! I noticed a post in this thread talking about that bus from Iraq and just wanted to add my 2 cents. I'm not sure why GM continued the old cowl for so long after the medium. My style cowl was used from the second quarter of 1984 up until the end of 1991 which was when the entered a partnership with Blue Bird to use the new Topkick style cowl exclusively through 2003.

I have always loved GM trucks as my granddad had many suburbans. I think between that and riding this bus to school, I fell in love with the them. I also have always been fond of the big square Topkick 1981-1989 style.

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!

About 3 months ago i started working for this big landscaping company, we have 110 trucks and about 40 trailers, all of different types. While hurricane Earl was looking like it was going to cause some damage, they pulled out our winch truck that i was not even aware existed. Needless to say i thought it was pretty neat. Its a 1970 GMC with a 305 V6. It has air brakes and a 4 speed plus low (not sure what tranny that is.) The PTO winch has a 300' cable. There is a switch that says "Dry Road - Wet Road" i assume its some kind of air locker for the rear but the mechanic said it doesnt work anymore. I dont know a ton about the c-40/50/60 trucks but maybe you guys can tell more about it just by looking. I was told that it got new fenders once in its life and they never replaced the emblems so im not sure if its a 40 or 50 or 60. Now it spends its life sitting in a barn that no one uses. There really isnt much more than a little surface rust on this truck. Oh yeah factory tach that works too. Here are the pics i got

They yellow one looks kind of cool in a freaky sort of way.
I like the work you do man and I am trying to get a 69 C50 off my uncle who bought it from an auction. He parked it out in the field and there it has sat for i don't know how many years. In Manitoba Canada I need to have a truck over 10K GVW to be able to run Deuce and a Half diffs with the 52" tires I have on the road with out getting pulled off the road.

I drug it out of a field last fall where it had sat for 9 years. After evicting the mice I got it running and stopping again and put it to work hauling trash from a remodeling project.

Thanks
