You don't see it very often, white with the red stripe...but the contrast is pretty awesome in my book. Im gonna save these pics as a potential future color on my truck, still trying to make up my mind, but dang that looks good. |
Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
Thanks....The truck looks to be all original except wheels and tires, exhaust....I am doing some research now to see how the truck actually came from the factory.
I am "Considering" putting a stepside bed on it....and will be doing a front disc brake conversion and adding A/C. The only issue with the truck is that the 3 spd tranny shutters a little bit on take off...I'm hoping it just needs a clutch pressure plate throw out bearing instead of a new tranny....Eventually I think I am gonna put a 700R4 Motor is supposedly a 327 but Ill have to get the casting numbers to make sure. |

1963 C20. Not mine. Pretty rough but might be good for parts.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
Found a 1965 C30 panel converted to bus by Novelty Carriage Works in Spokane. Still all original except seats. And fiberglass covering the cancer.
I was the first to show up, and of course bought it. It was on CL for 3 days. A guy showed up from Montana just after I bought it. It might be a one off rig. Sorry, I don't know how to put a picture here. It is on my profile. |

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
I gave the guy 18 Franklin's. And the shipping guy another 3 1/2. I would have driven it home, but the guy said the RR brake locks up. I see now its just a leaky wheel seal. The engine is rebuilt, but a 292. I'm towing a 32' Silver Streak so need a bit more power.
If you check Moses Lake CL....or maybe Yakima CL, there is a C10 ambulance with a C30 panel to boot. I tried to buy the panel (twice) and he wants to sell as a pair only. Don't know why. They both have cancer in the same areas. And nothing is interchangeable as far as the parts go. Both have different eng/trans,rear's ect. I tryed to buy the factory AC dash part, but he wont sell it. Both were AC panels. C30 does not have an engine. He is asking $6500, I think $4500-$500O will take them both. I've gone up there twice last year. |

6 original miles ala Lambrecht collection. It got a bath, but kinda pricey and low-mile to already have a roof that looks like someone dropped a cinder block on it. Rut Roh, bet someone lost their allowance over that one. But I guess they're only original once...

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
I THINK this one is pretty rare -- the long wheel base makes me believe it's a 1-ton panel?
Location is Crown Point, IN (just outside Chicago) https://chicago.craigslist.org/nwi/cto/6085739570.html https://images.craigslist.org/00N0N_...mQ_600x450.jpg |

Here's an interesting one for ya - 66 Custom Camper (claimed, I can't make it out in the pics, but he did describe the emblems to me, so that was good enough. If buying, I'd want to see the SPID just in case) in solid white (not common). Factory 327/PG truck, but now has a 72 350 and an o/d 5-speed. Talked to the gentleman, and pictures aren't his thing, nor are computers.. But, he seems like a real straight shooter. He's the 2nd owner. Get this for something I've never heard of - when I asked him if it was a T5 or an NV trans transplant, well, turns out it's a 49 GM DUKW 5 speed with a 0.80 o/d that he adapted to the truck. Now how about that. I rode in one of those things at Wisconsin Dells as a kid. (for those unfamiliar, it's a WWII-ish amphibious craft). Anyway, the camper is a 66 Gemtop that the 1st owner put on at time of purchase supposedly. Seller is 2nd owner. Enjoy: https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/6091276247.html
