Re: Project: Shiro
My vote would be for the first wheel as well. You know I'm going to say a mild bag job would look great on this truck but if not, I think the current stance looks great. I do agree with Keith though, a set of 20" Mag-G's would look so right on this truck. I think Billet Specialties dropped the prices on them, you can get 20's for less than 2g's from Newstaglia wheel.

This is the truck that sold me on Mag-G wheels from Billet Specialties (18's and 20's).
I would do all 20's. I love the grey Torq Thrust II's (even though most think they are played out),... but the Mag-G wheel has a soft lip instead of a step lip. That's a bonus to me. Perfect patina'd truck wheel. Again,... just my opinion. |

Re: Project: Shiro
I thought I had a clear picture of what I wanted to do with this truck, but at this point I'm not too sure. It's cool that it has low miles and in good shape, but it was bought for my son and I don't think I would turn him loose on the streets with this truck in its current configuration. I have some folks telling me it would be a shame to do an engine and/or transmission swap, and on the other hand my WIFE is telling me I owe it to him to build him a sweet hot-rod truck. I like to adhere to the "Happy Wife, Happy Life" way of living, but I am honestly conflicted.

I have one more detail to work out and then I'll map out the plan for all to see.

Re: Project: Shiro
I say do what you want to the truck, it's your truck. I wouldn't listen to people telling you not to rip out a low mile original 6cyl for a hotter setup. In the end it is just a truck not a ultra rare unmolested original everything musclecar worth well over 6 figures. I say rip that motor out, build a hotrod with your son and enjoy it.

Re: Project: Shiro
Agreed. Start with a clean truck--end up with a schweet truck! 'Course, it's an easy decision when it's not mine  I'm torn on whether or not to tear into mine, too...

Re: Project: Shiro
I like that one, too. Too bad they didn't cast those ridges in the coil covers when they made them. Great plan!

Re: Project: Shiro
I like that set up too. I plan to do something similar to my 6.0 for my dually.

Re: Project: Shiro
