Are you going to customize the body and lower the suspension or make it into a sleeper?Either way its going to be a nice ride.

Re: 64 chevy swb on a 94 chevy caprice frame w/ lt1

Factory chrome bumpers and side chrome with a "over the window" mirror like on firefighter736's. Ftom the pics I have seen in comparison it should have about a 2 inch drop from the factory height. I may go 1-2 inches lower or air ride but I want see what it looks like with the full weight on it. Most likely staggered shiny wheels and tires. 18x8 up front and 18x10 or 20x10 in the back. But the budget may require the current wheels and tires to stay for a while. AC is more important!! I want to pull the boat to local lakes so i need to keep it practical. Shaved the stake pockets and shaving the old fuel hole. The bed was bought with a partial mod to mid 80's cadalac tail lights frenched in but not sure I am crazy about it. I am thinking about going back to factory lights but lower them some for a subtle change. I picked a color but a guy has to keep something secret!! It will be two tone though. :)

Thanks everyone. I got the front bumper mounts tacked in place today. I will start with the bed mounts tomorrow. That is going to be a task in order to get the body lines to line up.

Halfway done with mocking up the bed mounts.. This isnt your normal bed mounts... Was stopping here but felt I could brace up the frame some more and also use all 8 mounting points from the original bed.

One more cross member to hold up the front of the tank and I will be done.. Everything seems to be lining up. I intend to put the fill neck behind the tag in the bumper and that seems to be lining up also. This really stiffened up the frame..

Bears, I ate up with it. I show people pictures like it is a new baby. People close to me tell me that I problems and need counseling. It will slow way down when I get to areas I am less familiar with like wiring and body work.

Old iron, that is a red dirt floor in my open top (and sides) shop. I know it looks like a stained concrete floor but you got me!!! I don't know any different.

I have decided to work on the firewall and close in the gap at the top. The engine sits 3-5 inches lower in the frame then factory so I have this gaping hole on the top. The cab comes off tomorrow or Friday to paint the frame so I plan on fixing this also.
