I did Greg. They are supposed to be good down to 0 degrees f and since this is unheated space that feature will be useful.

Replaces 4-Lamp - T5HO 54W / 8-Lamp - T8 32W | 20,500 Lumens LED Linear High Bay E-HLC20 Series | 5000K | White

They are amazingly bright.

I agree on the LED lights!!!

I used 16 t8 fixtures in my new shop that I “inherited” from work. I straight wired them and converted to 6k led bulbs. The shop is BRIGHT.

That is a good way to do it for sure. Today we have an amazing selection of lighting options...and it can be confusing. Way better than the old bulbs.

Lol yeah maybe Mike. He has old metal cans wired up in the rafters too. Might be some cool collectible 5 gallon buckets. The guys were doing a pretty good job. I asked for insulation in the new wall section, just in case I ever decide to finish and heat this area.

Very cool new work space you are finishing. You must be so excited. I used Led lights in my shop as well. Each fuxture put out more light than 2 40w florescent and use half the power. It sure comes in handy living in the country where there are lots of skilled ppl to help.

Thanks Lower. Yep, we’ve been pretty pumped and will be selective what goes back in there. Good light is really nice...one of my pet peeves is poor lighting.
We are pretty fortunate to be connected with some talented folks. Here, we don’t need google reviews, you know these people and what kind of work they do.

The new doors were installed today and are duplicates of the door in the shop part of the building. I used Kevin again. He is a small businessman that installs and repairs the overhead doors at businesses and dealerships in the area.

On January 1 2017 the shop door rolled up and wouldn’t go back down. Disconnected the release from the power unit and it still wouldn’t go down. Keep in mind the shop is heated and it is cold here on January 1.

So I called the service number on the door sticker and it was Kevin’s cell phone. Left a message and figured I wouldn’t hear from him until the next day. Wife and I were able to get the door down to save the heat. A few minutes later, Kevin called back, apologized for missing my call as he was at his kids ball game and wondered how he could help.

Keep in mind Kevin called back on January 1. And was willing to do what ever. And I had only bought one door from him.

Kevin and his son did come down the next day as I recall. The door was needing a bit of adjustment and mostly some maintenance lube due to building owner neglect. It was colder than boo out, Kevin has way bigger customers than me yet he was there darn fast to fix my screw up....$100 bill and called it good.

So when I decided to put these doors in, who do you think I called? Didn’t shop around or quibble on price. It was fair enough. Kevin was done in less than one day.

Love these doors...power openers, remotes, industrial looking push buttons by the doors.

Way nicer than the old huff and puff push the 50 year old roller door open. Push a button....living like the Clampets.

Now the builder comes back next week to finish the metal around the door openings.

Doors measure 13’ high and 17’ wide.

That’s for sure Greg. My door is overdue for the lube job...don’t want to be the neglectful owner again. :)

Me too Mike! There are so many bad ones out there... thanks Mike. We like how it is coming together. Need to get my shelves and metal rack back in there so I can get organized.

Builder won’t make it back until next week. He called and asked me if that would be OK. Of course I said that would be fine.

I do find I spend a lot of time sweeping that space....takes a long time.

Great question Greg. It is wheel powered similar to an old fashioned push reel mower. The drive wheels on the rear power the brush that sweeps the debris into the bin. Think of a large dust pan with a long thin rubber edge.

The brushes at the front are powered by a rubber belt driven as well by the rear wheels.

Obviously I tried it out before taking this picture.

Ordered this Monday night from Amazon about 10 and it was here about 5 PM today. Take that inconvenient big box stores.

Overall it works really well and I swept half the new concrete in 10 minutes. While it is way faster than a push broom and dust pan, it doesn’t like clumps of string. Also where you stop and change directions it sometimes leaves a row of dirt, just like when you use a broom and dust pan.

Trying to show a before picture of the dirt on the floor. It did a great job with the dirt though the tractor rubber prints are going to need scrubbing to clean up.

One pass through the dirt and the push sweeper cleaned it right up.

It is similar to pushing a small light weight lawn mower. I did notice while I was moving at a good clip, dust was boiling out around the edges on the dust bin.

For the reasonable price, easy assembly, quick Amazon shipping and how well it works, I give this sweeper an A. It has really good reviews on Amazon too.
