I welded the bolt to the end of the push rod and used the DOM tube to add strength to the new end.

You are doing a great job on that truck Kim, keep up the great work.

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Nice mod on the hydroboost. Is that the total length of the rod you're going to use? I'm asking cause I have mine to do once I get the frame work done, but I'm thinking that the rod will need to be longer on mine.

There will be a piece of DOM approximately 30" long connecting the pedal to the hydroboost unit. It will have a threaded insert welded into each end. Kim |

I did some work on the doors.
The driver door was missing two of the nuts on the top bracket. I cut an access hole in the jamb so I could weld some new ones in. |

Here it is with the new nuts and the access hole welded shut.

The passenger door had a little more work involved in it.
Thanks to some direction from Kabwe I was able to get it done. The new lower panel didn't have the indentations in it that are on the original doors. On the side with the hinge I wasn't worried about it because it can't be seen and I'm not doing a restoration on the truck. On the outside I was able to save the indentation so it would match the other door. |

I had to modify the new hinge bracket because it was designed to fit around the indentation on the original door.

Time for some more up-dates.
I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my dash after seeing what some of the other guys here were doing. I had already smoothed the entire dash and removed the opening for insturment cluster. As I couldn't find a layout for the insturment cluster that I liked with the hump I decided to remove it. I have to give a big thanks to Kabwe for making this possible. I met him at the Brothers show this year and he was kind enough to supply me with the dash out of his truck. These first pics are of what I had previously done to the dash. |

These next pics show the cut out and the donor dash.
I cut a section from it that fit where my hump was and welded it in. |

Heres what it looks like now. I also patched a section that I wasn't happy with from my previous work.
I now have the option of getting a hot rod bezel or just installing the insturments rite in the dash. Thanks again Kabwe for your old dash. Hope you guys enjoy the pics. Kim |
Re: My 57 Pro Street
Great work Kim. Keep after it!

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Looks great, really smooth out. As far as your thank you, you are completely welcome, but you don't have to thank me, seeing you put it to good use is thanks enough. Great work Kim.
Thank you for sharing that mod, I think it fits your trucks theme. |
Re: My 57 Pro Street
Looks great! I like the idea of getting rid of the hump in the dash. Looks alot cleaner! Nice work...
